Dr. Law Yu Fai (1948-1993) We deeply regret to inform you of the death of Dr. Law Yu Fai. The road accident involving Dr. Law and a local colleague from Kakwang Academy occurred in Shantou, China on 25th September 1993. At the time of the accident, Dr. Law was leading a group of six students from the Office of International Studies Programmes (OISP) participating in an OISP tutorial programme in China. The students were not involved in the accident. The local colleague, Mr. Zheng Agin, was not seriously injured. Dr. Law received his B.A. and M.A. degrees from The Chinese University. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Bielefeld, Germany. Dr. Law Yu Fai joined the staff of The Chinese University in 1986. He was the heart and soul of OISP, serving as assistant to the director of OISP and as honorary lecturer in the International Asian Studies Programme. In more recent years, he also served as associate director, Office of Academic Links. Dr. Law was the driving force behind the development of OISP, its teaching programmes, and its many exchange and cultural activities for international and local students. He deeply influenced a generation of Chinese University and overseas students who were participants in the University's academic and cultural exchange programmes. He will be deeply missed by his colleagues, students and friends. He is survived by his mother, father, brother, wife, and two small sons.
