中 大 通 訊 把根留住 我是接受中文敎育成長的，心坎裡對中國社會有深 厚的感情。雖然有不少機會到外國任敎，但始終捨不得 離開中大。 敎學給我最大的滿足感是看到學生可以掌握數學知 識和學會處世之道。 現在回顧過去日子，總有「今不如昔」的感覺。 數學系黄友川 楊振寧教授於六四年初次訪港，我（左三）得機與他會晤。此圖攝於聯 合書院，左一為方心謹副校長，右一為李文贊先生。 敎書樂趣 我出身崇基，對中大有歸屬感，加上喜歡敎書和性格使 然，便在中大工作了二十多年。近十年來，商學院的學術氣 氛越來越濃厚，自己在硏究方面亦略有所得，敎硏相長可培 育出更優秀的學生。看到他們學以致用，各有發展，滿足感 最大。 財務學系許丹林 Fleeting Thoughts on Receipt of the Long Service Award What immediately comes to mind is the disbelief and amazement that such a long period of time could have gone by, and so fast. The initial encounter with students on a fine autumn day in 1968 is still vivid; I can see their faces and hear them talk. The total enrolment of the School of Education during the first few years of my service was never more than 50. In those early years the 'University' existed only in one's mind, because the three constituent colleges were scattered around various parts of the city. The School of Education was then located on Nathan Road in Mongkok, above a local bank. The students were quite pleased with the location since it was easily accessible. Staff also found it convenient because so many eating places were literally at our doorsteps. Through teaching and research at the Faculty of Education, you witness your students grow academically and professionally.
