宣 布 事 項 ANNOUNCEMENTS 新任講座教授 Professorial Appointments 矯形外科及創傷學講座教授 Professor of Orthopaedics and Traumatology 大學委任鄭振耀教授為矯形外科及創傷學講座教授，任期 由二零零零年十月一日起生效。 鄭教授一九七六年取得香港大學內外全科醫學士學位，一 九九九年獲本校頒授醫學博士學位。 鄭教授曾於瑪嘉烈醫院和瑪麗醫院服務，一九八三年加入 中大矯形外科及創傷學系，並先後於八六及九二年升任高級講 師和教授。 鄭教授為二十多個專業學院和醫學組織的成員，並為多種 學術期刊的編委。他曾多次獲最佳論文獎。 Prof. Jack Cheng Chun-yiu was appointed professor of orthopaedics and traumatology on 1st October 2000. Prof. Cheng was educated at the University of Hong Kong, receiving his MB BS in 1976. He became FRCSEd and FRCSGlas in 1980, and FRCSEd (Orthopaedic Surgery) in 1984. He obtained his MD from The Chinese University in 1999. He joined The Chinese University in 1983 as lecturer in the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, was promoted to senior lecturer rank in 1986, and reader in 1992. He is now chairman of the department and sub-dean (medical education) of the Faculty of Medicine. He is also honorary consultant in paediatric orthopaedics at the Prince of Wales Hospital. Prof. Cheng is a member of the International Paediatric Orthopaedic Think Tank, the International Federated Body on Scoliosis Etiology, and the Chinese Society of Material Science. He also serves as an executive councillor of the International Federation of the Paediatric Orthopaedic Societies. His research interests include congenital muscular torticollis, childhood injury and prevention, bone mineral density in children and adolescents, and biomaterial research. 眼科及視覺科學講座教授 Professor of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences 大學委任林順潮教授為眼科及視覺科學講座教授，任期由 二零零零年四月一日起生效。 林教授一九八四年獲授香港大學內外全科醫學士學位，並 先後於一九八七及八八年取得愛爾蘭眼科文憑和格拉斯哥眼科 文憑。 林教授畢業後在政府醫院行醫，一九九零年加入中大外科 學系任教眼科，分別於九五及九九年晉升為高級講師和教授。 林教授為多個專業學院的成員，公職繁多，並為六種學術 期刊的評審、編委或顧問。他於一九九五年獲選「世界十大傑出青年」。 Prof. Dennis Lam Shun-chiu has been appointed professor of ophthalmology and visual sciences from 1st April 2000. Prof. Lam obtained his MB BS in Hong Kong in 1984, became FRCSEd in 1988, FRCOphth in 1990, FHKAM (Ophthalmology) and FCSHK in 1993, and FCOphthHK in 1994. He joined The Chinese University in 1990 as lecturer in ophthalmology, and was promoted to senior lecturer rank in 1995, and reader in 1999. He was appointed chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences in 1998. Prof. Lam has been honorary chief of service for the Hong Kong Eye Hospital, the Red Cross Hospital of Yunnan Province, Guang Zhou First Municipal People's Hospital, and Huadu Municipal People's Hospital. He is an honorary consultant (ophthalmology) to the United Christian Hospital and the Alice Ho M iu Ling Nethersole Hospital. It w i ll offer banking services 24 hours a day to users with bank cards that bear the logos of JETCO, Visa, Plus, Visa Cash, MasterCard, or Cirrus. Service to the Community and Internat ional Organizations • Prof. Kan Wing-kay, associate professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, has been re-appointed by the Chief Executive of HKSAR as a member of the Information Infrastructure Advisory Committee (IIAC) for two years from 1 st August 2000. • Prof. Daniel Shek Tan-lei, professor in the Department of Social Work, has been appointed as a member of the Nursing Council of Hong Kong for three years from 1st September 2000. • Prof. Lee Kam-hon, professor of marketing, has been appointed as a member of the Tourism Strategy Group for one year from 1st September 2000. • Dr. Kenneth Pang Kwok-hung, director of the University Health Service, has been appointed as a member of the Residential Care Homes (Elderly Persons) Appeal Board from 14th September 2000 to 24th April 2002. • Prof. Amy Lam Mong-chow, professor in the Department of Social Work, has been reappointed as a member of the Social Work Training Fund Committee for two years from 1st October 2000. • Prof. Ma Lai-chong, professor in the Department of Social Work, has been re-appointed as a member of the Mental Health Review Tribunal for two years from 1st October 2000. • Prof. Archie Lee Chi-chung, professor in the Department of Religion, has been appointed as an advisory member of the 宗教研究所籌備小組 by Tunghai University, Taiwan, from 1st May 2000 to 31st July 2001.
