4 No. 193 4th December 2001 CUHK Newsletter 宣 布 事 項 ANNOUNCEMENTS 校董會消息 Council News •城市電訊(香港)有限公司主席王維基先生獲 大學監督指定,繼冼為堅博士出任香港中文 大學校董,任期三年,由二零零一年十月十 八日起生效。 •梁元生教授獲崇基學院院務委員會推選,繼羅 炳良教授出任大學校董,任期由二零零一年十 月十四日至二零零四年四月廿二日。羅教授則 繼續以文學院院長的身分出任大學校董。 •金聖華教授獲新亞書院院務委員會再度推選,於其現屆任期屆滿日起續任大學校 董,任期三年,由二零零二年一月二十一日起生效。 • Mr. Wong Wai-kay, Ricky, Chairman of City Telecom (HK) Ltd., has been nominated by the Chancellor to be a member of the Council for a term of three years with retroactive effect from 18th October 2001, succeeding Dr. David W.K. Sin. • Prof. Leung Yuen-sang has been elected by the Assembly of Fellows of Chung Chi College as a member of the Council replacing Prof. Daniel P.L. Law, for the unexpired period of membership of Prof. Law from 14th October 2001 to 22nd April 2004. Henceforth, Prof. Law will remain a Council Member by virtue of his capacity as the Dean of Arts. • Prof. Serena Jin has been re-elected by the Assembly of Fellows of New Asia College as a member of the Council for a further period of three years from 21 st January 2002, upon the expiry of her current period of membership. 平安夜、除夕及大年夜之辦公安排 Staffing Arrangements on Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve, and Chinese New Year's Eve 根據大學關於平安夜、除夕及大年夜辦公之安排,所有部門於二零零一年十二 月廿四日(星期一)、十二月三十一日(星期一)及二零零二年二月十一日(星期一)上午 只須留有職員值班。當值之職員可獲補假半天。 上述安排不適用於保健處、大學圖書館系統、資訊科技服務處之電算機操作組、 保安組、交通組、物業管理處等部門。該等部門須留有足夠人手以維持基本服務。 The following staffing arrangements for Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve, and Chinese New Year's Eve will apply on 24th and 31st December 2001, and 11th February 2002. A l l three days are Mondays. 1. For essential service units such as the University Health Service, the University Library System, the Operations Team of the Information Technology Services Centre, the Security Unit, the Transport Unit, and the Estates Management Office, a task force should remain on duty to provide basic services. 2. For all other offices in the University, skeleton staff should be on duty on these mornings to handle urgent matters and enquiries. These offices will be closed in the afternoon. 3. The skeleton staff on duty on each morning will be given compensation leave of half a day. 防止賄賂條例 Gifts? Bribery? 根據本港條例,香港中文大學為公共機構,並受《防止賄賂條例》之管制。條例 中第三條〈接受利益規例〉及第四條〈賄賂條例〉旁及所有公共機構僱員。 聖誕節、元旦及農曆新年將至,本校僱員擬贈送或收受禮品,而又不能確定該 等贈受是否抵觸《防止賄賂條例》,請先參閱條例之有關細節。 《防止賄賂條例》原文單行本分存大學各圖書館和新聞及公共關係處(碧秋樓三 樓),以備同人參考。 The University is a public body listed under the Schedule of the Prevention of Bribery Ordinance (CAP 201, Laws of Hong Kong). A l l University employees are classified as 'public servants' under the ordinance and should be wary of accepting gifts which could be construed as being offered to them in connection with their 'public' capacities. As the Christmas and New Year holidays are approaching, members of the staff who wish to give away or accept any gifts in this festive season and are in doubt as to whether such gifts are permissible under the law should first consult the Prevention of Bribery Ordinance. Copies of the ordinance are available for reference at the University Library and its branch libraries, as well as at the Information and Public Relations Office (2nd floor, Pi Ch'iu Building). 建築物及設施名稱 Naming/Renaming of Buildings/Facilities 大學校董會最近議決通過下列建築物及設施的名稱︰ •聯合書院胡忠圖書館易名為「聯合書院胡忠多媒體圖書館」 •聯合書院即將奠基的新學生宿舍命名為「陳震夏宿舍」 •聯合書院鄭棟材樓地庫的學生活動中心命名為「思源文娛中心」 •崇基學院新改建的學生宿舍(舊硏究院宿舍)命名為「五旬節會樓」 The University Council has approved the renaming/ naming of the following buildings/facilities: • The United College Wu Chung Library has been renamed United College Wu Chung Multimedia Library with retroactive effect from 1st July 2001. • A new student hostel to be constructed on United College campus and a student amenities centre inside the T.C. Fee rebate has not been reflected. 修訂僱員附帶福利條件 Revised Fringe Benefits Package 大學將由二零零二年一月一日起實施《修訂僱員附帶福利條件(2002)》。該修訂 條件適用於按(甲)類、(乙)類、(丙)類及相類服務條例受聘的僱員,但不適用於按 醫院管理局相類服務條例受聘的僱員。五項修訂內容分列如下: (甲)取消子女教育津貼; (乙)引入非實報實銷的度假旅費津貼,取代高級職員(即薪金屬政府首長級薪 級的僱員)現行享有的度假旅費津貼; (丙)引入新的「年假計劃(2002)」; (丁)取消家具及用具津貼︰ (戊)取消(乙)類、(丙)類及相類服務條例受聘僱員的每月交通津貼。 該修訂條件適用於二零零二年一月一日或以後加入大學的僱員。現職僱員根據 聘約可享的福利將維持不變,惟每月交通津貼不屬於聘用條款,所以會由二零零二 年一月一日起停止發放。 《修訂僱員附帶福利條件 (2002)》 的具體安排,詳載於人事通告編號 05/2001 ( 已 存於人事處網頁)。 The University wi ll soon implement a Revised Fringe Benefits Package (2002) with effect from 1st January 2002. The revised package applies to Terms of Service (A), (B), (C) and equivalent staff (but not applicable to those on Hospital Authority-equivalent terms of service). There are five items of revision, namely, (a) cessation of Children's Education Allowance; (b) introduction of non-accountable Leave Passage Allowance to replace the current leave passage benefits for senior staff; (c) revised leave provision under the (2002) Annual Leave Scheme(s); (d) cessation of Furniture and Domestic Appliances Allowance; and (e) cessation of monthly travel allowance to Terms of Service (B)/(C) and equivalent staff.
