4 No. 195 4th January 2002 CUHK Newsletter 宣 布 事 項 ANNOUNCEMENTS 研究院下年度入學申請 硏究院現接受二零零二至二零零三年度的入學申請，截止日期為下月二十八日。 硏究院下年度將提供一百九十四項課程，包括一百二十五項研究式課程(六十 一項博士和六十四項碩士課程），以及六十九項修課式課程(五十九項碩士和十項學 士後文憑課程）。課程分全日制及兼讀制，供有志全力深造或工餘進修的人士選 擇。硏究式課程的全日制學生可獲硏究生獎學金的資助，本年度的金額為每月一萬 三千六百一十五港元。 索取或查閱有關資料的方法如下： (一)硏究院秘書處網頁 ( http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/grs/) 提供詳盡資料及即時網上申 請服務。 (二)於辦公時間內前往田家炳樓 601A 室「硏究院入學申請資料臨時派發處」 索取。 (三)校外人士可列明申請的學科，連同貼上足夠郵資*的回郵信封（不小於 32 cm X 24 cm) ，寄往沙田香港中文大學硏究院秘書處。 其他詢問，請電郵予研究院秘書處 ( gardschool@cuhk.edu.hk) 。 * 郵 費 為 八 元 二 角 ， 如 索 取 兩 個 或 以 上 課 程 的 資 料 ， 郵 費 則 為 十 六 元 四 角。 保險學工商管理學士課程改名 Change of Name of the BBA Programme in Insurance 大學教務會核准將保險學工商管理學士課程改名為「保險、財務與精算學工商 管理學士課程」，並視該課程為專業課程。 The Senate approved the change of name of the Bachelor of Business Administration Programme in Insurance to the Bachelor of Business Administration Programme in Insurance, Financial and Actuarial Analysis. The programme is regarded as a professional programme. 辦理延長工作簽證須知 Visa Extension 同人若沒有香港居留權，須留意本身的香港工作簽證逗留期限，並於限期屆滿 前四星期內申請延長簽證。大學僱員可聯絡人事處索取在職證明，俾便申請延長工 作簽證，查詢請電內線七二九二。 Staff members who do not hold the right of abode in Hong Kong are reminded to check the validity of their employment visas and arrange to have them renewed within four weeks prior to their expiry date. Staff members may approach the Personnel Office (Ext. 7292) for a sponsorship letter from the University to certify their employment status. 骨質疏鬆症健教活動 Osteoporosis Preventive Campaign 保健處將於本月十四至十八日，舉辦「認識骨質疏鬆症」健教活動暨免費骨質密 度測試。查詢及預約該測試，請電內線六四一六。 Osteoporosis is a debilitating bone disorder. After the age of 35, most people begin to lose bone mass, with visible symptoms appearing only after the disease has reached an advanced stage. Staff members can check their bone status in the Health Education Room (1/F, Health Centre) from 14th to 18th January 2002. Pre-registration is necessary. Please call Ext. 6416 for booking. 圖書館館徽設計比賽 ULS Logo Design Competition 大學圖書館現舉行圖書館館徽設計比賽，獎金五千港元。得獎作品將用於圖書 館的刊物、信紙、名片或網頁上，與大學校徽並列。 參賽作品須於二零零二年二月一日前送交大學圖書館館長（田家炳樓七樓），信 封註明「館徽設計比賽」，並附上聯絡資料及學生證號碼。 參賽者只限香港中文大學的全日制學生及校友，每人只可遞交一份作品，作品 須畫於白紙上，大小以三吋乘三吋正方為限。參賽作品必須全屬原始創作；得獎作 品將會接受有關版權及商標註冊的檢查，違規者會被取消資格。 由大學副校長廖柏偉教授、藝術系系主任蘇芳淑教授及大學圖書館館長施達理 博士組成的評選小組，將於二零零二年三月四日公布結果。評選小組的結論為最終 決定，並有權決定任何賽果。 The University Library is holding a logo design competition. The winning design will be used on Library publications, letterheads, name-cards, web-sites etc. alongside the customary CUHK logo. The winner will receive a prize of HK$5,000. Entries are now invited from full-time students and alumni of the University. The number of entries is limited to one per entrant. The designs should not be larger than 3" x 3" and should be made on white paper. They should also be original. The winning entry will be checked strictly for copyright and trade-mark registration. Entries should be marked 'Logo Competition' and sent to the University Librarian, 7/F, Tin Ka Ping Building, along with contact details and student number. The judging panel comprises Prof. Liu Pak-wai, pro-vice-chancellor, Prof. Jenny So, chair of the Department of Fine Arts, and Dr. Colin Storey, the University Librarian. The winning design will be announced on 4th March 2002.
