Fee rebate has not been reflected. 職員審議事宜 Annual Staff Review 大學快將審議二零零三至二零零四年度(甲)類服務條款職員之退休/延任及擢升 (至新設立一級主任職級或相若職級)事宜之提名或申請。 所有提名或申請，須於二零零二年十一月三十日前送交行政事務委員會秘書譚 壽森先生(大學行政樓三樓人事處），查詢請電內線七二六九。 Applications/nominations are invited from all full-time non-teaching staff on Terms of Service (A), with respect to retirement/extension of service, and promotion (up to the level equivalent to the newly approved ABI/ARI/ASI rank), for consideration in the staff review exercise for the 2003-4 academic year. The deadline for submission of applications/nominations is 30th November 2002. Applications and nominations should be sent to Mr. S.S. Tam, Secretary, Administrative Affairs Committee, c/o Personnel Office, 2/F, University Administration Building (Ext. 7269). Further enquiries may be directed to Mr. S.S. Tam. 中大評議會特別會員大會 香港中文大學評議會將於本月十六日（星期六)下午三時假香港中環德輔道中七 十七號恒生大廈二十一樓大禮堂召開特別會員大會，討論及通過將「香港中文大學評 議會」名稱更改為「香港中文大學校友評議會」。會後並設校友茶會。 中大評議會乃根據大學條例組成的法定組織。其運作目標包括：（一)就母校發 展，向母校反映社會人士及校友的建設性意見；（二)向社會人士顯示校友對母校的支 持；及(三)關注社會事務，表達校友對社會的積極及建設性貢獻，有助為校友及大學 建立良好的社會形象。 建議更改的新名稱「香港中文大學校友評議會」，將可清楚反映其為中大校友組 成的評議會，除可避免原名稱所引起的誤導，更能增加中大校友對該會的歸屬感和 認受性，有助該校友組織的未來發展。 凡中大評議會成員(即中大學位畢業生及經登記列名大學評議會名冊的文憑持有 人)均有權出席特別會員大會，並有投票權。有意出席者，須預先填妥登記出席表 格。該表格可向中大校友事務處索取（電話二六零九七八七二或二六零九七八六零， 傳真二六零三六二二六或二六零三六九七九，電郵 alumni@cuhk.edu.hk) ，或從校友 事務處網頁（ http://www.alumni.cuhk.edu.hk/html/convocat.html) 下載，亦可在網上填 覆。截止登記出席會議日期為二零零二年十一月十五日下午六時。 健康教育講座 各人的體型及體重每每因應遺傳基因、飲食和運動習慣，以至情緒等因素而互 異。因此，不同的人有不同的體重控制方法。 保健處將於本月十三日下午一至二時，在保健醫療中心一樓健康教育室舉辦 「十種坊間流行減肥法——大比拼」講座，由註冊營養師胡美怡主講，設免費茶點招 待，歡迎員生出席。 Dinghy Sailing Course The Water Sports Centre ( http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/wsc) and the Student Sailing Club are organizing a Hong Kong Yachting Association Level 1 Dinghy Sailing Certificate Course for staff and students of the University. The course will take place at the University Sports Centre from 10 a.m. to 17.30 p.m. on 1st and 10th November. The instructor is Ms. Janet Lau of the Hong Kong Yachting Association and the course will be taught in Cantonese, English, and sign language. The course fee is HK$375 per head (half price for children) and is payable in full upon booking. Enrolment is limited to six participants. Family members of staff and students are also welcome to join. Participants do not have to know how to swim. Early enrolment is advised as places are limited. Unsuccessful applicants will be offered a place in the next available course. Please contact Mr. P.T. Cuthbert, the centre supervisor, at 2603 6776, 9490 9524, or bubbles@cuhk.edu.hk f or enrolment purposes. 訃告 Obituary 前英語教學單位高級導師潘婉蕙小姐於二零零二年十月二日辭世，喪禮已於十 月九日舉行。潘小姐於一九八二年八月至二零零二年六月在中大服務。 Ms. Emma Poon, former senior instructor in the English Language Teaching Unit, passed away peacefully on 2nd October due to illness. Ms. Poon served the University fromAugust 1982 to June 2002.
