Leung has been elected by the Board of Trustees of New Asia College, in accordance with Statute 11.1(e), 11.4 and 11.5 of The Chinese University of Hong Kong Ordinance, as a member of the Council for a period of three years from 30 November 2007, succeeding the late Dr. Vincent W.H. Chou. 新任講座教授 Professorial Appointment 大學委任陳平原教授為中國語言及文學講座教授，由2008年 1月2日起生效。 陳教授先後於1982及1984年獲中山大學文學學士及文學碩士 學位，1987年取得北京大學文學博士學位後，留校任教中文系 凡二十載。 Prof. Chen Pingyuan has been appointed Professor of Chinese Language and Literature with effect from 2 January 2008. Prof. Chen received his BA and MA from Sun Yat-Sen University in 1982 and 1984 respectively.
