Luk (right) have been elected by the Convocation to serve as Council Members each for a period of three years from 12 July 2009, upon the expiry of the period of membership of Mr.Lee Kam-chung on 11 July 2009 and filling an existing vacancy. 心理學系張妙清教授獲教務會推選，出任大學校董，任期三年，由 2009年8月1日起生效，以填補因李沛良教授在2009年7月31日退休的 空缺。 Prof. Fanny M.C. Cheung of the Department of Psychology has been elected by the Senate to serve as a Council Member for a period of three years from 1 August 2009, to fill the seat vacated by Prof. Rance P.L. Lee who retired on 31 July 2009. 化學系余濟美教授獲聯合書院院務委員會推選，繼張雙慶教授出任大 學校董，任期三年，由2009年9月5日起生效。 Prof. Jimmy C.M. Yu of the Department of Chemistry has been elected by the Assembly of Fellows of United College to serve as a Council Member for a period of three years from 5 September 2009, succeeding Prof. Chang Song-hing. 新任講座教授 Professorial Appointments 大學委任蒲慕州教授為歷史學講座教授，由2009年8月1日起生效。 蒲教授畢業於國立台灣大學，及後於1978及1984年獲美國約翰斯霍 普金斯大學碩士及博士學位。他曾於國立台灣大學、美國西雅圖華盛 頓大學及美國芝加哥大學等任教。 Prof. Poo Mu-chou has been appointed Professor of History with effect from 1 August 2009. Professor Poo graduated from National Taiwan University. He obtained his MA and PhD from Johns Hopkins University in 1978 and 1984. He had taught in National Taiwan University, the University of Washington, Seattle, and the University of Chicago. 大學委任徐寧教授為決策科學與企業經濟學講座教授，由2009年8月 12日起生效。 徐教授於1989及1994獲美國愛荷華大學的經濟文學碩士及計算機科學 理學碩士學位，並於1993年獲該校營運管理博士學位。加入中大前， 徐教授為澳洲新南威爾斯大學澳洲商學院的營運管理講座教授。 Prof. Vernon N. Hsu has been appointed Professor of Decision Sciences and Managerial Economics with effect from 12 August 2009. Professor Hsu received his MA in Economics and MS in Computer Sciences in 1989 and 1994 and his PhD in Operations Management in 1993 from the University of Iowa. Before joining CUHK, he served as Professor of Operations Management in the Australian School of Business at the University of New South Wales. 書院院長任期 College Head/Master Appointment Period 善衡書院院長、生物學研究講座教授辛世文教授，獲延長善衡書院院長任期至2014年 7月31日。 Prof. Samuel S.M. Sun, master of S.H. Ho College and Research Professor of Biology, has received an extension of his period of appointment as master of S.H. Ho College to 31 July 2014. 第341期《中大通訊》宣布事項一欄，黃乃正教授再度獲委任為新亞書院院長，校董會委 任的任期應為三年。 In the Announcements section of the CUHK Newsletter Issue no.341, the period of Prof. Henry N.C. The aim of the scheme is to help needy students by providing opportunities for paid campus work, in the form of assisting University academics/administrators in their projects. The nature of the work should be confined to: • assisting academic staff in their research projects; • assisting administrative staff (Executive Officer rank or above) in projects which require a large task-force on a short-term basis; • any other job assignments as approved by the Committee on Student Campus Work Scheme.
