2 No. 404, 4.10.2012 大 學 課 程 透 析 Anatomy of an Academic Programme 傳授知識、激盪思想、推動研究和創造知識，都是大學 作為最高學府的核心使命。傳授知識更是使命的基本， 而課程則是其載體。 The transmission of knowledge, the stimulation of thought, the promotion of research, and the creation of new knowledge are the core missions of universities as seats of higher learning. And, of all these mandates, the transmission of knowledge ranks as the most important, and the academic programme is its vehicle. 你適合當藥劑師嗎？ Do you have what it takes to be a pharmacist? 在面試報讀藥劑課程的學生時，學院會注重申請 人的數項特質。學院院長李漢良教授說：「申請者 須有扎實的知識，嚴於律己，溝通技巧良好，並具 服務病貧者的熱誠和心志。由於主動和團隊式學 習愈來愈重要，我們遴選時也會考慮申請者是否有 多元發展、樂於與人分享，以及具備領導才能。」何 淑珊博士補充，具備成為好老師的潛質、有身兼多 職的能力，以及長於管理時間，也十分重要。 When interviewing students for the programme, the school looks for certain qualities. ‘The applicants have to be well-grounded and disciplined. They should be effective communicators who have the passion and heart to serve the sick and the disadvantaged. As active and team-based learning grows in importance, we are mindful of the need to consider diversity, sharing, and leadership in rendering admission decisions,’ observed Prof. Vincent Lee, director of the School of Pharmacy. For Dr. Susan Ho, the potential to be good teachers, multitaskers, and having good time management skills are important. 以人為本 學院副教授 李詠恩 認為，課程設計旨在讓學生達致三個 「P」，第一個P為積極主動（proactive），學生願意服務 人群，「七年前，學院推行長者社區外展計劃，學生走出 教室，幫助社區上有需要人士。」這項活動現已得到博群 計劃資助。第二個P是參與（participation），「希望學生 走進社會，提供以病人為本的護理服務。約有六至七成 長者因為用藥方法太複雜或由於藥物的副作用，而沒有 正確用藥，此外，有百分之二十五至三十的長者因不識字 而看不懂藥物標籤。藥劑師應多鼓勵他們，並且耐心解 釋，確保他們正確服藥。」第三個P是推廣（promotion）， 「期望學生能提升藥劑專業的形象，藥劑師不止是藥物 專家，更是以關愛之心提供健康護理服務和推廣基層醫 療的人員。」 另一個推廣方法是藉着創新科技。2009年，李詠恩教授 與學生建立本港首個網上互動藥物資訊平台─「針藥」 （AMPOULE， www.ampoule.org.hk ） ，上載與藥物相 關資訊，並解答來自香港、歐洲、亞洲及中東地區公眾的 查詢，藉以增進一般人對藥物的認識，並令大眾明白藥 劑師是護理專業人員。 全球趨勢 藥劑教育受哪些全球趨勢所影響？何淑珊博士稱：「果 效為本學習法。我們在十年前已推行此 教學法，可謂先鋒之一。另外是強調 藥劑師應有良好的溝通能力，因 為藥劑師已不再是只待在藥房工 作。」李詠恩教授認為，病人愈 來愈主動找尋藥物資訊，而非單 單聽從醫生指示，因此藥劑師須 學會如何解答病人的疑問。李漢 良教授說：「我們希望培養學生有專 業的態度，其核心元素包括恪守道德、誠 實、正直、負責，以及尊重他人。」 國際和國內聯繫 學院與英美多間著名院校簽訂了學生交流協議，兩年 前，合作夥伴網絡更伸延到內地，首個結盟的為廣州暨南 大學，其他姊妹院校 包括南加州大學、三藩市加州大學、 倫敦大學學院、中山大學和復旦大學。 學院也在內地提供 培訓，又與復旦大學和中山大學等機構合辦工作坊、講 中 大藥劑學院於1992年成立，是本港 首間由政府資助的藥劑學校，今年 正值二十周年院慶。一直以來，學院為本港 學生提供了優質的藥劑教育培訓，就藥物開 發和治療作前沿研究，努力不懈提升本地藥 劑專業的水平。 理想的畢業生 藥劑學院迄今已培訓逾五百名藥劑師，佔全港執業藥劑 師人數三分之一。院校對畢業生的期望，往往是設計課程 時的重要考慮。究竟學院希望塑造怎樣的藥劑師？藥劑 學院院長 李漢良 教授表示：「我 們希望畢業生以病人的利益 為大前提，提升藥劑專業 水平；中大為學生提供的 訓練，是要令他們在社 區、醫院，乃至任何形式 的醫療保健機構，都能 發展有意義的事業。最重 要的是，畢業生在醫療保健 界積極主動、通力協作，讓全體市 民獲得可以負擔、有效並安全的治 療。」 課程演進 第一個十年 與英美的藥劑學校比較，中大藥劑學院的課程 在本學年之前仍是三年制，即只有三年時間培訓 可於本地執業的藥劑師。藥劑學教育課程副主任 何淑珊 博士提到相關歷史：「二十年前，醫學院轄下 一個工作小組為當時的藥劑學系設計首個課程，小組成 員參考了英美和澳洲院校的課程，並於海外招聘教員，又 舉辦工作坊，諮詢本地執業藥劑師和藥劑專業領袖的意 見，從而修訂成最適合本地需要的課程。」 第二個十年 學院成立最初的十年是扎根期，到了第二個十年就是發 展期。在2000年至2001學年，藥劑學系升格為藥劑學 院，並改革了本科課程，提供更多專業科目和體驗式學 習，學生也有機會參與實習和研究。 藥劑學院 培育醫藥通才的搖籃 School of Pharmacy A Cradle of All-round Talent on Drug Use and Health Care 李漢良教授 Prof. Vincent H.L. Lee 何淑珊博士 Dr. Susan Ho 邊註邊讀 Marginalia 曾在2007至2009年任教日本研究學系的祖運輝教授，在評 論兩本關於日本膳食文化的著作時說：「學者在研究生涯中 碰到食物，但甚少人有興趣研究……個人對於食物的精辟 看法，通常只會在會議前的接待會，或研討會後的派對中， 成為閒聊的談資，飲食在這些場合再為人所享用，但卻不是 學術研究的對象。」 * 其實飲食從來都離學術活動的焦點不遠，甚至和任何人類 活動都息息相關。在懂得箇中三昧的人眼中，中大校園是一 本打開的菜單。今期開始，新欄目「舌尖上的中大」將介紹 校園各種美食，但也純為解饞，非關學術。 大學圖書館多年以來變化不大，一直是愛書人徜徉流連之 處，也是小白腰雨燕的安樂窩。但見諸「昔與今」兩張相隔 二十九年的照片，歲月還是在這地標留下痕跡。 本期繼續介紹傑出課程系列，這次走訪藥劑學院，了解其 成功課程背後的化學成分。學院院長李漢良教授還告訴我 們，他小時候夢想成為藝術家，後來卻投身藥劑學的故事。 In a review of two academic treatises on Japanese foodways, Prof. Timothy Tsu, who taught at the Department of Japanese Studies from 2007 to 2009, observed that, ‘Few scholars showed an academic interest in the food they encountered in the course of research…. Personal insights on food were usually consigned to conversation during conference receptions and postseminar parties, where the food and drink were again enjoyed but uninvestigated in academic terms.’* Food and drinks are never far from the centre of academic activities, in fact, any human activity. To the discerning, the CUHK campus can be an open menu. Starting from this issue, we will be serving the University community with a new feature, ‘Mouth-watering Morsels’, and investigate different delicacies and delights on campus, not in academic but in appetizing terms. The University Library building itself has changed very little over the years, still a haven to the book-lovers and the swifts. But the two photos in ‘Then vs Now’, with 29 years in between, tell us time did leave its marks on our landmark. To continue our profiling of outstanding academic programmes, we visited the School of Pharmacy to try to understand the chemistry behind its successful programmes.
