8 Campus Life Colleges and Hostels Colleges provide informal education and hostel residence for enriching university life. The Colleges of the University provide and manage over 20 hostels, each unique in its own way. In the next couple of years, more new hostel buildings will be completed to accommodate the increasing number of students. The cross-cultural living environment of the International House (I-House) managed by the Office of Student Affairs provides another option for students from Hong Kong, China and overseas. Off-campus Housing In view of the shortage of hostel places due to the growing number of non-local postgraduate students, the Off-campus Housing Information Web is set up to provide students with information related to rental accommodation outside of CUHK campus. Check it out at: www.cuhk.edu.hk/osa/ohis. Learning The University Library System (ULS), which comprises seven branch libraries, houses a collection of over two million items in print and electronic resources. Students and staff can borrow books on campus, or they can gain off-campus access to the e-resources via Easy Access, virtual private network (VPN) or the Library’s proxy servers.
