Meeting and Outdoor Venues Cho Yiu Conference Hall The Gate of Wisdom and the Beacon Cultural Square University Mall Henry Cheng International Conference Centre (HCICC) The 162-seat conference room is equipped with simultaneous interpretation system and projection screen for video-conferencing. Portraits of past chancellors, council chairmen and vice-chancellors adorn its walls. The broad rectangular base of the sculpture The Gate of Wisdom, also known as the Beacon, is a popular place for student activities, especially public forums and ceremonies. Outside the Benjamin Franklin Centre, a popular place for student activities including open-air concerts, drama, as well as cultural festivals. Lined between the University Library and the Science Centre, the University Mall is the most famous icon on campus. It is also the place for the University’s annual congregation. Located at Cheng Yu Tung Building and adjacent to the teaching hotel and MTR station, HCICC provides 15 multi-purpose conference venues including a large theatre for 460 scholars and rooms of small and medium sizes.
