22 Abundant opportunities fashion our graduates into useful members of society and highly regarded leaders in trades and professions. CUHK provides many opportunities for students to study abroad at hundreds of world- class institutions across over 30 countries and regions. Every year, more than 6,000 opportunities are offered to students to go on exchange to immerse themselves in foreign cultures, enjoy new learning experiences and meet new friends from various backgrounds. Every summer, hundreds of student interns were placed in over 40 countries under the Global Internship Programme to acquire hands-on experiences in various environments conducive to their personal growth and career development. Some of the experiences include working as a digital marketer in Tokyo, covering news in New York, and engaging in marine protection in Mauritius. CUHK has long put emphasis on sports activities and students’ all-round development. Athletes admitted to CUHK would enjoy immense flexibility in their studies and have the University’s full support. In 2018, 37 students and alumni participated in the Asian Games held in Jakarta and Palembang in Indonesia and brought home a record high of 12 medals.
