4 No. 136 4th December 1998 CUHK Newsletter 宣布事項 ANNOUNCEMENTS 第五十四屆大會（頒授學位典禮）及典禮日特別安 排 Arrangements for the Fifty-fourth Congregation for the Conferment of Degrees 大學第五十四屆大會(頒授學位典禮)將於本月十日 (星期四）分兩部分舉行。典禮之第一部分於上午十時在 林蔭大道舉行，由大學監督、香港特別行政區行政長官 董建華先生主持，頒授榮譽博士學位、高級學位及學士 學位。 第二部分由成員書院、研究院和兼讀學士學位課程 分別為學士及碩士學位畢業生舉行畢業禮，依次由各書院院長、副校長楊綱凱教授和副校 長金耀基教授主持。時間及地點表列如下： 畢業典禮 時間 地點 逸夫書院 下午十二時三十分至二時 邵逸夫堂 新亞書院 下午一時三十分至二時四十五分 林蔭大道 崇基學院 下午二時至四時 崇基禮拜堂 聯合書院 下午三時至五時 邵逸夫堂 碩士學位課程 下午三時三十分至五時 林蔭大道 兼讀學士學位課程 下午三時三十分至五時 逸夫書院大講堂 披 袍 處 披袍處設於大學行政樓祖堯堂。典禮第一部分之行列準於上午九時四十分列隊’並於 九時五十五分離開大學行政樓祖堯堂。 停 車 場 安排 典禮當日，范克廉樓、富爾敦樓、大學行政樓、中國文化研究所、田家炳樓及大學圖 書館等停車場，皆保留予嘉賓及公務車輛專用。邵逸夫堂對面之停車場將闢作畢業生座 席，該停車場於十一月二十八日至十二月十三日暫停開放，以便蓋搭帳篷。 停 課 研究院課程與醫科一、二年級及醫學科學增插學年學士學位課程是日停課。 范 克 廉 樓 教 職 員 及 學 生 餐 廳 暫 停 服務 范克廉樓教職員餐廳及學生餐廳是日由上午七時三十分至下午五時暫停服務，以便安 排典禮後之茶會。范克廉樓地庫快餐店亦於上午十一時三十分至下午二時三十分暫停營 業，以舉行兼讀學士學位課程畢業午餐會。 天 雨 安排 如遇天雨，典禮第一部分改在邵逸夫堂舉行；而新亞書院畢業典禮及碩士學位課程畢 業典禮則改在新亞書院體育館舉行。 The 54th Congregation for the Conferment of Degrees will be held in two parts on Thursday, 10th December 1998. Part 1 The first part of the ceremony, to be presided at by the Honourable Tung Chee Hwa, Chancellor of the University and Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, will be held at 10.00 a.m at the University Mall. Honorary, higher, and first degrees w i ll be conferred. Marshalling of the procession will begin at 9.40 a.m. The procession will leave the University Administration Building for the ceremonial ground at 9.55 a.m. P a r k i n g Car parks at the Benjamin Franklin Centre, John Fulton Centre, University Administration Building, Institute of Chinese Studies, Tin Ka Ping Building, and the University Library will be reserved for guests with special parking labels. The car park opposite to Sir Run Run Shaw Hall, to be used as a seating area for graduates, will be temporarily closed from 28th November to 13th December for the erection of a canopy for the ceremony. S u s p e n s i o n f Classes Classes for Medical Years 1 and 2, Intercalated Degree Programmes, and postgraduate programmes will be suspended for the day. T e m p o r a r y C l o s u r e of BFC C a n t e e n s The Benjamin Franklin Centre staff canteen and student canteen w i l l be closed on that day from 7.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m., as they will be used for the reception for higher degree graduates after Part I of the ceremony. The Benjamin Franklin Centre snack bar will be closed from 11.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. for the lunch gathering of Part- time Degree Programmes graduates and their families. W et W e a t h e r In case of wet weather, Part I of the ceremony will be held at Sir Run Run Shaw Hall while the New Asia College Graduation Ceremony and the Master's Degree Graduation Ceremony will take place in the New Asia Gymnasium. 偉倫講座 Wei Lun Lecture 美國密蘇里州聖路易斯市華盛頓大學醫學院外科學榮休講座教授 P r o f . Thomas B. Ferguson ，本月以偉倫訪問教授身分蒞校交流，並於本月四日（星期五)下午五時三十分在 威爾斯親王醫院臨床醫學大樓二樓演講廳主持公開講座，以英語主講「談出版科學期 刊 」 。歡迎出席。 Prof. Thomas B. However, on a shorter term basis, the month of October and the cumulative results since July 1998 in the Growth, Balanced and Stable Funds have underperformed the benchmarks, due to reduced exposure of these funds in Hong Kong and Southeast Asia. The stock markets in Hong Kong and neighbouring regions have recorded substantial gains since the beginning of September. 聖誕、除夕及大除夕之辦公安排 Staff Arrangements on Christmas and New Year's Eves 根據大學關於聖誕、除夕及大除夕辦公安排之規定，大學所有部門於本月廿四日（星 期四）、卅一日（星期四)和一九九九年二月十五日（星期一)上午只須留有職員值班。當值 之職員可獲補假半天。 上述安排不適用於保健處、大學圖書館系統、電算機服務中心之電算機操作組、保安 組、交通組、物業管理處保養組等部門。該等部門須留有足夠人手以維持基本服務。 接載教職員下班的專車於該三日中午十二時五十五分從范克廉樓大停車場開出。
