42 香港中文大學年報 CUHK Annual Report 2017–2018 Sign Language Teaching On 11 December 2017, the Certificate Programme in Sign Language Teaching run by the Centre for Sign and Deaf Studies graduated its first batch of 13 students who also became Hong Kong’s first-ever professionally qualified sign language teachers. First-of-its-kind in Hong Kong, the programme aims to promote sign language teaching and is funded by the Van Tse Zung Charity Foundation. (Top photo) Free Analyses for Recurrent Ovarian Cancer Patients The Faculty of Medicine, in collaboration with the University of Hong Kong, launched a study on multi-gene mutation-drug matching for recurrent ovarian cancer patients. The research aims at identifying a more precise choice of drugs, based on tumour DNA characteristics using modern pharmacogenomics analysis. The Hong Kong Cancer Fund-sponsored study would provide free analyses for 100 local patients, whose tumour DNA characteristics would undergo pharmacogenomics analyses. Positive Education The Jockey Club Positive Education ‘Ascend and Radiate’ Project (JC- PEAR), jointly organized by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and the Faculty of Social Science, was officially launched on 11 June 2018. With the participation of about 40 primary and secondary schools, the project aims to promote positive education among students, parents and teachers by offering participating schools professional advice on curricular designs, teaching methods, and communication with students. Mental Health Self-help Platform The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust donated $16.31 million to CUHK and the New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association to set up Hong Kong’s first-ever stepped or phased care mental health platform known as ‘The Jockey Club TourHeart Project’. The project, in operation since September 2017, offers its members access to online mental health tools and programmes, as well as offline activities such as workshops. 手語教學 手語及聾人研究中心2017年12月11日舉行 首屆手語學證書課程畢業典禮,共有十三位 同學獲頒證書,成為第一批獲手語教學專業 資格的教師。此課程為香港首創,由萬志仁 慈善基金贊助。(上圖) 為復發性卵巢癌病人提供免費分析 中大醫學院與港大合作,展開復發性卵巢癌 多基因變異—藥物配對研究,藉現代藥物基 因組學分析,確定DNA特徵以提供更精確的 藥物配對。是次研究由香港癌症基金資助, 將為一百名本地患者提供免費藥物基因組學 分析。 正向教育 香港賽馬會慈善信託基金與社會科學院攜 手設計的「賽馬會『正正得正』教育計劃」, 於2018年6月11日舉行啟動典禮。此計劃得 到四十所中、小學參與,提供課程設計、教學 法、師生溝通等方面的專業意見,向學生、家 長、老師等推廣正向教育。 自助心理支援平台 香港賽馬會慈善信託基金向中大及新生精 神康復會捐助一千六百三十一萬港元,成立 香港首個階段式精神健康平台:「賽馬會心 導遊計劃」。此計劃於2017年9月開始運作, 提供網上精神健康資訊和課程,也舉辦工作 坊供會員參加。
