社會責任 Social Responsibility 47 共創美好明天 Working towards a Better Tomorrow 作為聯合國可持續發展解決方案網絡香港地區分會成立機構之一, 大學透過實際行動造福全球。 The University, as a co-host of the Hong Kong Chapter of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Solutions Network, continues to focus on practical problem solving for betterment of the world. In support of Hong Kong’s Climate Action Plan 2050 and the national goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2060, the University announced its goal of going carbon neutral by the year 2038 . Measures to promote the use of renewable energy and creating a plastic-free campus are in place, including the installation of solar panels and reverse vending machines for collecting plastic beverage containers. Restaurants on the CUHK campus took part in the pilot trial of the ‘Food TranSmarter’ developed by the Hong Kong Productivity Council. The first-ever system in the territory that automatically liquefies food waste into slurry, offering a simple and clean solution to converting food waste to renewable energy, won the Champion and Most Favoured Awards at the City I&T Grand Challenge 2021. 為配合《香港氣候行動2050》及國家 於2060年前達致碳中和的發展方向, 大學公布期望於 2038年達致碳中和 的 目標,並推行多項措施以鼓勵可再生能 源的應用,建設無塑校園,包括安裝太 陽能發電板、設置回收塑膠飲品瓶的入 樽機等。校園內的餐廳亦參與由香港 生產力促進局研發的 「廚餘再生俠」 試 行計劃,該發明是全港首個可自動將廚 餘液化成漿液的處理系統,以簡易、衞 生的方法把廚餘轉化成可再生能源。 「廚餘再生俠」於2021年「城市創科大 挑戰」中獲得冠軍及最喜愛大獎。 環境局局長黃錦星先 生(右二)、創新及科 技局局長薛永恒先生 (右一)於中大校長 段崇智教授(左二) 的陪同下,向顧問團 隊了解「廚餘再生 俠」的運作原理。 Mr. Wong Kam- sing, Secretary for the Environment (second from right) and Mr. Alfred Sit, Secretary for Innovation and Technology (first from right), in company with Professor Rocky Tuan, Vice- Chancellor and President of CUHK (second from left), are introduced to the working principles of the ‘Food TranSmarter’. 4 4
