I n the e n d the assessment was n ot a b o ut f u n d i ng or a b o ut c omp a r i s on a n d competition b e t we en different units, but was an occasion for the University to take a serious l o ok at itself, to understand the strengths a nd weaknesses of each unit, a nd to set goals for the future. 專利權 P a t e n t A c t i v i t i es 校內的應用硏究亦日漸增加，年內有三項硏究新發明申請專利權。而於一九九四至九 五年度成功獲取專利的，是由麥繼強教授及何國強教授發明的細菌去污法。他們以 H-12 和 W-3 兩個新品種的細菌，成功分解藍靛和硫化黑這兩種有害環境的染料。 Ap p l i ed research leading to patentable results is on the increase. One patent that was granted during the year was 'Microbial Degradation of Indigo and Indigo Carmine w i t h Bacterial Strain ATCC 55396', w i t h Dr. K.K. Mark a nd Dr. Walter Ho as inventors. 教育學院鄭燕祥博士之硏究小組獲硏究資助局撥款，進行香港歴來最大規模的小學教育調查。此項爲期兩年之研 究，顯示師生普遍對現狀不滿，且課堂教學效果極差。 The most comprehensive survey ofprimary education ever conducted in Hong Kong has been carried out by Dr. Cheng Yin-cheung and his team from the Faculty of Education with the support of an RGC earmarked grant. The two-year study indicates that there is widespread dissatisfaction among students and teachers, as well as gross inefficiency in classrooms.
