T h e Sir Run Run Shaw Ha ll o n campus s p o n s o r ed excellent stage performances, w o r k s h o ps a n d talks to cultivate p u b l ic interest i n the p e r f o r m i ng arts. T he General Bo o ks Publication Programme of the Chinese University Press o f f e r ed 14 n e w titles to the r e a d i ng p u b l i c. These general b o o k s, together w i t h 18 o r i g i n al academic wo r k s, dictionaries a nd teaching materials, we re significant contributions of k n o w l e d ge to the c o mm u n i ty at large. 本校亞太工商研究所及工商管理學院，則協助本地工商機構培訓員工、設計管理及商 業進修課程。年內分別爲多間大型機構，如九廣鐵路、聯邦快遞及新鴻基地產等舉辦各項 訓練課程。此外，更特別爲本地中層管理人員開辦證券市場分析文憑深造課程，又與香港 聯合交易所有限公司合作出版《香港證券業參考手冊》（第二版）。 醫療服務方面，全港首間癌症醫療研究中心於九四年在威爾斯親王醫院落成啓用，本 校醫學院正帶領此中心開拓最先進的癌症研究及治療工作。醫學院又於年內設立全港首間 綜合性兒童脊柱裂醫療中心，成立燒傷基金，並進行大型調査以制訂香港華裔兒童的生長 標準，對提高本地醫療質素有重大 貢獻。 中大一向積極推動與社會民生 有密切關係的研究，一九九四至九 五年度獲政府工業署資助，開展多 項工業支援研究計劃，包括診斷冠 心病之試劑、中藥及健康食品之品 質控制、發展電子新聞傳媒的軟硬 件基礎設施，以及爲成衣業設計電 腦影像檢索系統。 教育學院繼續爲在職中學教師 開辦進修課程；體育部則於一九九 五年夏季爲一千名中學生舉辦運動 領袖訓練營及工作坊。 本校每年均爲香港培育大量高 質素畢業生， 一九九四至九五年共 有三千四百零六名學生畢業，其中 包括首屆藝術碩士及藥劑學士畢業 生，校方期望他們能好好運用在大 學所得的知識和訓練，服務社會， 建設香港。 首屆藝術碩士畢業生的作品 Works of the first two Master of pine Arts graduates 坤 Female (recycled paper r e l i e f )　 楊秀英 Camille Yeung �� Game (oil painting)���� Li Yau-mang
