Education, a nd c omme r ce a nd industry c o n t i n u e d to b e t h e t w o m a j o r sectors o f e m p l o y m e nt f o r C U H K g r a d u a t e s. A c o n s i d e r a b le n u m b e r o f t he graduates also s e r v ed the l o c al c o mm u n i ty i n o t h er c a p a c i t i es s u c h as c i v i l s e r v a n ts a n d e m p l o y e es o f p u b l i c a n d s o c i al s e r v i ce o r g a n i z a t i o n s. Close to 1,000 o r g a n i z a t i o ns a d v e r t i s ed 5,130 v a c a n c i es f o r f r e sh graduates t h r o u gh the A p p o i n t me n ts Service d u r i ng the year ( u p to 30th J u ne 1995). A n o t h er 705 organizations p r o v i d ed 8,416 vacancies for part-time a nd s ummer jobs for students d u r i ng the year.
