Students 學生 55 s t r e n g t h en their c omp e t e n ce in certain core areas such as language p r o f i c i e n c y, c ommu n i c a t i on skills, b r e a d th of k n o w l e d g e, social a nd i n t e r pe r s onal skills, a nd leadership potentials. A total of 141 sessions of such guidance activities were organized i n the academic year 1994-95 and we re attended by 11,643 students. 調查及出版 Surveys and Publications 除每年的畢業生就業調查及新生家庭狀況調查外，學生事務處曾於一九九四至九五年 度進行下列數項調查工作： •與大學教育資助委員會資助的院校合作，調查一九八八、一九八九及一九九零年 度畢業生之就業發展； •爲求改進膳堂服務，開展范克廉樓膳堂管理、服務水準和食物質素調查； •爲一年級新生進行健康評估，以確保有問題傾向之學生能及早獲得輔導； •向需往國內工作之中大畢業生作問卷調查。 學生事務處每年皆出版各類調查及工作報告，此外於是年出版了三期《學生事務》及 八期《就業輔導簡訊》。該處亦獲外界贊助，出版《學生獎助學金及經濟援助手冊》及 《一九九四年度畢業生就業槪況》。 Apart f r om the annual surveys on the first destinations of graduates and the socioeconomic b a c k g r o u nd o f n ew entrants, several other ma j or survey studies w e r e conducted b y the University's Office of Student Affairs during the year: • i n c o l l a b o r a t i on w i t h other UGC institutions, a tracer study o n the career de v e l opment of 1988, 1989 and 1990 first-degree graduates; • w i t h a v i ew to i mp r o v i ng catering service, a study o n the management, service a nd f o od quality of canteens at the Benjamin Franklin Centre; • a health screening exercise for first year students for the purpose of identifying the h i gh risk g r oup for early counselling services; a nd • a survey o n CUHK graduates w h o are engaged in China Trade. Relevant publications during the year included various survey reports, three issues of Student Affairs, eight issues of Career Newsletter, a Handbook on Scholarships & Financial Aid to Students, a nd A Summary Report on the Career Development of the 1994 Graduates.
