Academic Support Facilities 教學輔助設施 59 校園電腦設施 C amp us C o m p u t e r i z a t i on 校內的電腦及網絡設備和服務，在一九九四至九五年度獲進一步改善，以配合各部門 不斷增長的需求。 首先，電算機服務中心於王福元樓建立新的用戶區，內置五十台個人電腦和激光打印 機，又在碧秋樓主用戶區旁增設工作站實驗室，備有九台圖像工作站，專供數據圖像處理 之用。 電算機服務中心利用校園的電腦網絡，連結四所成員書院之微型電腦實驗室，替逾百 台電腦提供中央網絡文件服務。學生在書院電腦實驗室工作時，可使用一致的軟件組合和 操作環境。這項跨部門局域網服務，將會逐漸擴展至各學院和學系的電腦實驗室。 爲普及資訊科技的應用，電算機服務中心加強了辦公室自動化的培訓工作。文職和行 政人員可參加定期舉辦的自學課程和講習班，學習應用最新的軟件。大學亦與主要的軟件 供應商簽訂校園軟件特許使用權，令微型電腦、工作站，以至主體電腦的操作成本減至最 低。 To cope w i t h the insatiable demand for computing, automation and information i n the University, computer facilities and n e t wo r k i ng services we re further de v e l oped in the year 1994-95. A n e x t e n s i on of the Comp u t er Services Centre User Area, w i t h 50 p e r s o n al computers and laser printers, was established in the Wo ng Foo Yuan Building. A n d next to the ma in User Area in the Pi Ch'iu Building, a n ew laboratory w i t h n i ne graphics workstations was set u p in January 1995 to i mp l ement data visualization applications.
