文 學 院 重 要 發 展 Major Events in the Faculty of Arts Historia 《亞洲英語教學學報》 •英語教學單位制定全面的英語促進計劃，以協助增強全校學生的英語能 力；又擴展其實用英語科目，以切合護理、社工、社會學和商科學生的 需要。 •中國語言及文學系為兼讀制本科課程學生開設實用中國語文科目。 •學院及轄下學系陸續出版學術期刊，包括《中文學刊》、《亞洲英語教 學學報》、《史藪》和《人文學刊》。 •日本研究學系、音樂系、宗教系和英語教學單位設立了局部區域網絡， 以促進電腦科技在教學和研究的應用。 • The English Language Teachin g Unit (ELTU) developed a coheren t and comprehensive plan for English language enhancement for all C U HK students, and expanded its Englis h for Specific Purposes courses to cater to the needs of students i n nursing, social work, sociology, and business administration. • The Department of Chinese Language and Literature introduced Chinese proficiency courses for students of part-time degree programmes. • The faculty and its constituent departments started publishing different kinds of refereed journals: The Chinese Academic Journal, Asian Journal of English Language Teaching, Historia, and CUHK Journal of Humanities. • Local area networks were established in th e Departments of Japanese Studies, Music, and Religion as well as the ELTU to promote the us e of computing technology in teachin g and research.
