電子資源中心 Electronic Resources Centre 設於胡忠圖書館的新穎電子資源中心一九九五年十月正式敢用，它的設計糅合了最新的 資訊科技與數碼圖書館的特色。讀者可利用該中心的先進設備，瀏覽網絡上不斷擴展的虛擬 圖書館。該中心又提供光碟和國際網絡等資源，定期舉辦研討會，鼓勵學生主動探究新的學 習方式和發掘資料。 A brand new Electronic Resources Centre was officially opened inside the W u Chung Library in October 1995. It is a synthesis of the latest in information technology and digital library design. Users can make use of its mode rn electronic equipment t o cruise the expanding wo r ld of the virtua l library. CD - ROM an d Internet resources are available; seminars are regularly r un t o enable students to explore new styles o f learning and tap interesting resources around the globe. 圖書館聯網與國際網絡資源 L i b r a r y Ne t wo r k i ng and I n t e r net Resources 圖書館系統的萬維網網頁於一九九五年九月啟用，協助師生更快查閲圖書資料，並便利 他們在國際網絡搜尋訊息。圖書館又於年內增設四十餘部唯讀光碟驅動器，並購入許多電子 媒介資料，諸如唯讀光碟、磁帶或經由國際網絡閲覽之電子媒介雜誌等。 I n September 1995, the library's own World-wide Web (WWW) site began production, providing ease of access to library information and at the same time better guides for staff and students on accessing subject area s on Internet. Over 40 CD-ROM drives were added to the CD - ROM ne two rk wh i ch is accessible by al l users on campus; more electronic resources on CD-ROM, tape, or via Internet subscriptions were purchased. 指引課程 User Educa t i on 圖書館系統開設課程介紹圖書館的新服務和資源，又印製多種小冊子方便新讀者和研究 人員了解圖書館服務，更為新生及新任教師舉辦輔導課程。讀者對這些服務的反應甚為理 想。 To introduce the new services an d resources to users, a series of user-education programmes and seminars were organized throughout the year; librar y brochures and handouts for novice users and researchers were published; orientation programmes were offered to freshmen and new faculty members .
