研究及科技事務處提供便捷的一站服務予校內敎硏人員，並負責保管 他們的發明報告。在眾多經由該處達成的特許使用協議中，必須一 提者，為中文網頁搜索器「茉莉之窗」已供北京通信信息協會應用 於屬下公司的網頁。 中大不少技術發明，都交由經讓產易股方式設立的公司處理，以迎 合市場需要。其中訊息網絡研究所有限公司，便一直積極把自選視像 服務器、雅博中文全文檢索系統和電子排版轉換系統這三種技術轉 化，以供商業應用。 另外， 「供互聯網服務商和多媒體應用軟件使用的高容量網絡基 建」，已交由 I X T e c h 有限公司特許使用。本校持有 I X T e c h 有限公 司小量股份。 校方亦給海峻（香港）有限公司選擇權，營銷「蒙太奇」技術。 Technology Transfer The Universit y ha s starte d t o licens e it s invention s sinc e 1990, includin g restrictio n enzyme s tha t hav e commercia l applications, an d a n algorith m develope d t o c omp r e s s image dat a (th e intege r cosin e transform s algorithm ) use d by t h e U S Nationa l Aeronautic s an d Spac e Administratio n to s pee d u p dat a retrieva l from th e spacecraf t Galileo .
