60 Students and Alumni 學生和校友 學生 新生入學 二零零七至零八年度，大學共錄取新生 四千六百八十七名，計大學教育資助委員 會（教資會）資助課程的本科生三千二百 二十五名，研究生一千四百六十二名。此 外，還錄取了三千八百七十四名學生入讀 自負盈虧的本科及研究課程。 中大是年收生再創佳績，錄取了三十一名 在香港高級程度會考（高考）中考獲四優 或更高成績的考生，包括全港十名高考 五優生中的五名。參加大學聯合招生辦法 （聯招）成績最佳的一千名學生中，近半 數入讀中大。聯招數字顯示，中大是錄取 最多派獲第一志願及第一組別志願學生 的院校。 是年度，中大亦錄取了三百零九名非本地 本科生。他們來自內地二十五個省市、加 拿大、芬蘭、德國、印尼、日本、澳門、馬來 西亞、毛里裘斯、葡萄牙、新加坡、南韓及 美國等。 學生人數 二零零七至零八年度，教資會資助課程的 本科生人數較上年度上升百分之三點四， 研究生人數增加了百分之二點七；自負盈 虧研究生課程人數則有百分之四點七的 增長。 以二零零七年十二月三十一日計算， 教資會資助課程的學生總人數為一萬 三千九百四十九人，其中百分之七十六點二 為本科生，百分之二十三點八為研究生； 在自負盈虧課程方面，有七千零六十一名 學生修讀研究生課程及六十名學生修讀 本科生課程。 Students Student Admission A total of 4,687 new students were admitted during the year 2007–08, including 3,225 undergraduate students and 1,462 postgraduate students in University Grants Committee (UGC)- funded programmes. In addition, 3,874 students were admitted by self-financed undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. In 2007–08, CUHK admitted 31 students receiving 4As or above in the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE), including five out of the 10 students who had obtained 5As. Of the top 1,000 Joint University Programme Admissions System (JUPAS) entrants in all of Hong Kong, about half were admitted to CUHK. JUPAS statistics also show that CUHK admitted the largest share of both first- choice and Band A JUPAS applicants among all local tertiary institutions. During the year, CUHK admitted 309 non-local undergraduates from 25 mainland provinces and municipalities, Canada, Finland, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, Mauritius, Portugal, Singapore, South Korea, and the US, etc. Student Population In the year under review, the University registered an increase of 3.4% in undergraduate student enrolment, a 2.7% increase in postgraduate student enrolment in UGC-funded programmes, and a 4.7% increase in postgraduate student enrolment in self-financed programmes. As at 31 December 2007, the total enrolment figure of UGC- funded programmes stood at 13,949, of whom 76.2 % and 23.8% were undergraduate and postgraduate students respectively. On top of this, 7,061 students were enrolled in self-financed postgraduate programmes and 60 students in self-financed undergraduate programme.
