Other Major Developments The long awaited teaching hotel finally opened on campus. The Hyatt Regency Hong Kong, Sha Tin, launched a soft opening in February 2009. It is expected to offer a full range of hospitality services for its guests and training opportunities for our students in the hotel and tourism management programmes in 2010, when the neighbouring Teaching Building for the Faculty of Business Administration is completed. On another front, after a series of stakeholder engagements and the subsequent formulation of conceptual plans and planning principles, the consultant appointed to lead the Campus Master Planning submitted the Campus Master Plan Synoptic Report in April 2009. When finalized, it will serve as a blueprint for the planning and landscaping of our campus in the years up to 2021 and beyond. The planning precepts and zoning guidelines it encapsulates will guide future generations of CUHK members in developing and sustaining our campus, with deference to history and tradition and respect for ecological concerns.
