社區健康 大學推出社區健康理學士課程，是由於 現今世界非傳染性疾病日益增加，新舊 傳染病一再肆虐，以及社會愈來愈重視 社區康復醫療服務，對擁有公共衞生 技能和社區健康教育實踐知識的人員， 需求漸殷。 社區護理的成功，有賴於優良的社區健 康教育和健康促進 計劃。本課程旨在傳 授學生有關知識與技 能，培養他們成為社 區健康從業員（社康 員）。社康員的工作 包括預防健康問題、 提倡健康生活方式、 加強市民遵從醫囑、 改善大眾自我保健和 管理的能力，並協助 大眾獲得適當的醫療及社會服務，藉此 減低醫療及社會照顧的成本。 當代中國研究 為了加深學生對中國的了解，協助他們 將來於世界各地投身與中國事務有關的 工作，大學開辦當代中國研究這門跨學 科和跨學院的課程。課程的核心科目賦 予學生基礎知識，足以使他們具備分析 和了解當代中國的能力，此外還有大 量有關中國的科目可供選擇，這些科目 橫跨人文和社會學科，包括藝術、音 樂、文學、人類學、政治、新聞學、商 業、法律、社會學甚至中醫。 本課程提供兩個選修範圍，學生可根據 個人的興趣和目標選擇修讀「人文學 科」或「社會科學」，將分別於畢業時 獲頒授文學士學位或社會科學學士學 位。學生在頭兩年會到校內的雅禮中國 included in this programme: (i) cultural heritage, conservation and tourism; (ii) cultural institutions and programming; (iii) cultural and creative industries; and (iv) community cultural projects for social enhancement. Graduates from this programme will be the vanguards of the societies to interpret, define, communicate and defend cultures. With senses and respects for different cultures, they will commit themselves to the development of local culture from a global and local perspective. Community Health Practice The Bachelor of Science in Community Health Practice articulation programme was offered in response to the increase in non-communicable diseases, emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases and increased societal recognition of the importance of community-based care. It fulfils demand for a workforce with public health skills and knowledge of community health promotion practice. The success of community-based care requires a quality community health education and health promotion programme. This programme is aimed at equipping graduates with the knowledge, skills and competencies to apply health theories, which are essential for the effective implementation of community health programmes. It provides training to those who wish to become community health practitioners, those who hope to reduce health and social care costs by preventing health problems, promoting healthy lifestyles, improving compliance with medical advice, enhancing self-care and self-management skills, and facilitating access to appropriate health and social services. Contemporary China Studies The Contemporary China Studies programme is a multi-disciplinary, inter-faculty programme that prepares students for international careers involving China. On top of core courses that allow students to acquire the foundation for analysing and understanding contemporary China, the University offer one of the greatest selections of China-related courses available at any university in the world. These courses will span the humanities and social sciences, and include specialty instruction in art, philosophy, music, literature, anthropology, government, journalism, business, law, sociology, and countless more, even in traditional Chinese medicine. 12 嶄新課程與新學習方式 New Programmes and New Learning Methods
