LECTURERS Dr . Chang Shu-ting, Chung Ch i College, Biology. D r. Chang, bo rn in K u o -H s ie n , Shansi, graduated from N a tion a l T a iw a n U n iv e rs ity in 1953 w ith a B.Sc. degree. He won the firs t place in the N a tion a l Advanced E xam ina tion fo r G overnm ent T e chn iq ue Personal in p la n t breeding th a t summer. He worked as a ju n io r specialist o f tobacco breeding at the T a iw a n Tobacco & W ine M o n o p o ly Bureau fo r tw o years. He went on fo r graduate study at the U n iv e rs ity o f W isconsin, U . S. A . in 1956 on a research assistantship and received his M .S . in 1958 and P h .D . in 1960 respectively. D r. Chang jo in e d C hung C h i College in 1960 and the next year he became the Chairm an o f the D e p a rt m ent o f B iology. Chang has been a m ember o f the G enetic Society o f Am erica, and was elected a mem ber o f the Am erican Genetic Association in 1964. H is present research interest is the genetic aspects o f straw m ushroom and hum an ear wax. Lee continued to stud y in the In s titu te o f Chinese Studies o f his alma mater and obtained an M .A . degree in 1959. D . degree. In 1956, D r. Lee was a tu to r at T a iw an N o rm a l U n iv e rs ity fo r a num be r o f years, and was later appointed le ctu re r and assistant professor respectively. T ao received his education at St. John's U n iv e r sity, (B .A . in Econom ics, 1924) and G raudate School o f Business A dm in is tra tio n , N ew Y o rk U n iv e rs ity , (M .B .A . , 1926). A fte r his re tu rn from the U n ite d States, he acted as the Dean o f the D e pa rtm e n t o f Commerce, K iangsu P ro vin cia l School o f Shanghai (1926-1928). He then tau gh t in School o f Commerce, Kw a ng H ua U n iv e rs ity , (1927-33) and the D ow n tow n School o f Commerce, Shanghai B ap tist College, (1929-31). In 1961, he jo in e d N ew Asia College as le ctu re r in the D e pa rtm ent o f Business A dm in is tra tio n , School o f Commerce. Aside from his teaching career, M r. Tao had been one o f the p rom in e n t bankers in China. He has held many im p o rta n t banking positions, such as, M anager o f the China & South Sea Bank, L td ., H o n g K o n g B ranch (1933-35) and Canton Branch (1935-40); General M anager o f A n H ua C omm ercial Bank, (1940- 45); General M anager o f the Shanghai C ity Bank and con cu rre n tly o f the Shanghai C ity T ru s t, (1945-47); D e p u ty General Manager o f the Kw a n g tu n g P ro vin cia l Bank and c on cu rre n tly manager o f the H o ng K o n g Branch, ( 1 9 4 7 - 4 9 ) . H e has w ritte n w id e ly on the problem s o f banking and finance, as appeared from tim e to tim e in the Bankers’ W eekly and Bankers' M o n th ly magazines published in Shanghai.
