M r . Tschang Hsi -lin, Chung Ch i College, Geography, M r. Tschang was educated at the N a tio n a l Sun Yat-sen U n iv e rs ity in Canton, where he received the B.Sc. Degree in 1933. H is teaching experiences w e re : Assistant, L e c tu re r & Associate Professor, N a tion a l Sun Yat-sen U n iv e rs ity (1933-43); Professor, T aiw an N o rm a l U n iv e rs ity (1947-58); Head o f D e pa rtm e n t (1958-59) & Professor (1958-61), Nanyang U n iv e rs ity ; L e ctu re r, C hung C h i College (1961 -present). He was awarded a H u m b o ld t Scholarship o f the Federal R epublic o f G erm any fo r research in the Geographisches In s titu t der U n iv e rs it ä t Bonn (1956-57). H e received his C ertificate o f Professorship from the M in is try o f E ducation, R epublic o f China (1958). M r. Tschang was appointed as a H o n o ra ry C onsultant o f the In te rn a tio n a l T ro p ic s Programme o f U N E S C O , Paris (1961). L a te r on he was elected as a F e llow o f the Royal G eographical Society, L o n d o n , F .R .G .S . (1962); M em b e r o f the Association o f Japanese Geo graphers, T o kyo , M .A .J .G . (1963); M em b e r o f the Association o f Am erican Geographers, W ashington, M .A .A .G . (1964); & M em b e r o f the " L 'A sso cia tio n de Geographes F rancais" , Paris, M .A .G .F . (1964). M r. L a i returned to H o n g K o n g in early July. △ M r . Preston Schoyer, acting V ice-P resident o f N ew Asia College w ill be on home leave from July 20th to 15th October, 1965. D u rin g his absence M r. D o na ld MaCabe w ill serve as a mem ber o f the U n i versity Finance C omm ittee and M r. L iu Hang T ang w ill act in his place as member o f the U n iv e rs ity Council. △ M r. Stephen T u a n -Y ew T io n g was appointed Assistant Registrar at N ew Asia College w ith effect from 1st A ugust, 1965. △ M iss D eborah Y ao, a second-year Commerce student o f U n ite d College, M r. F u n g H on M in g , th ird year students o f B io logy and Physics respectively o f Chung C h i College, le ft fo r T o k y o to attend the In te rn a tio n a l S tudents' Conference w h ich opened on J u ly 12, 1965. T h e y are three o f the 5 delegates from the Federation o f H o n g K o n g Students. T h e Conference has been d ivid e d in to 5 Forum s, each discussing a p a rticu la r th em e : P olitics, Social Problems, M u tu a l U nde rstanding , U n ite d Na tion s and Econom ics, T h e Conference is scheduled to close on A ug u st 9 , 1965. △ D r. M a L in , Head o f the C h em istry D epartm ent, U n ite d College, le ft fo r N o ttin g h am , U n ite d K in g d om , to attend an In te rn a tio n a l Conference sponsored by the Society fo r A n a lytic a l C h em istry to be held from Ju ly 19 to 23, 1965. F o llow in g the Conference D r. M a w ill spend a short pe rio d in U .K ., v is itin g C h em istry Departm ents o f B ritis h universities before re tu rn in g to H o ng K o n g in the la tte r pa rt o f A ugust. H is trip is supported by a g ra n t from the U n iv e rs ity . △ T h e Yale Glee C lu b and its D ire c to r Fenno Heath visited N ew Asia College yesterday m orn ing , where they were greeted by student representatives, Y a le -in -C h in a personnel and some o f the College Staff. A t the a u d ito rium o f the College, they sang b e a u tifu lly to an appreciative audience o f students and College staff, and were in tu rn entertained by the N ew Asia Chinese M u s ic Society and the M u sic C lub, T h e y had lu n ch w ith students and staff o f the College. 7
