Y oung, Professor o f B io chem istry o f the U n iv e rs ity o f Cambridge, arrived in H o ng K o n g on M a rc h 20 at the in v ita tio n o f the U n iv e rs ity fo r a v is it o f tw o weeks. Prof. Y oung is C hairm an o f the Academ ic A d v is o ry Board on N a tu ra l Sciences, one o f the three advisory bodies o f th is U n iv e rs ity , the other tw o being the Board o f Social Sciences and Business A dm in is tra tio n and the Board o f the H um an ities. D u rin g his stay here, he m et members o f the Boards o f Studies in Science to advise them on syllabuses and the firs t- degree programme. H e also held discussions w ith D r. C .T . Y un g , D ire c to r o f the In s titu te o f Science and T e chn ology and President o f Chung C h i College, about the proposed C entral Science L a bo ra to ry, its equipm en t and research. △ M r. H . H o ld sw o rth , L ib ra ria n , U n iv e rs ity C o l lege, Dar-es-Salaam , Tanzania, arrived in H o ng K ong on Tuesday, M a rch 22, at the in v ita tio n o f the U n iv e rs ity as consultant fo r the U n iv e rs ity L ib ra ry B u ild in g to be b u ilt at M a L iu S hui. Accompanied by his w ife, he w ill stay in H o ng K o n g fo r about a m onth. △ D r. F. M a n d l, Senior L e c tu re r in Theoretical Physics at the U n iv e rs ity o f Manchester, arrived in H o n g K o n g by plane on M a rch 28. D r. M a n d l had been in v ite d by this U n iv e rs ity to give advice on the teaching o f physics on bo th the undergraduate and post-graduate levels. T h e trip s o f M r. Hanisch, L ib ra ria n o f M a rb u rg U n iv e rs ity , G erm any, visited N ew A sia College. △ M r. T .K . A n n , M r. P atrick S.S. Y u and M r . K .W .J . T o p le y (Secretary) o f the U u iv e rs ity G rants C omm ittee visited C hung C h i College on February 26, and accompanied by President Y un g , toured the campus. T h e y also visited U n ite d College on M a rch 19 and tou re d the College prem ises w ith President Cheng. △ A group o f about 20 student representatives o f the Japanese unive rsities visited Chung C h i College on M a rch 1 and were welcomed by members o f the Students U n io n . △ Professor Charles C.
