Chuang, fo rm e r A c tin g C hairm an o f the Physics D e pa rtm e n t o f Chung C h i College from September, 1963 to January, 1966, was succeeded by D r. S.P. L i on F eb ru a ry 1st. △ M r, Chen Cho-jen, B.S. (U n iv e rs ity o f Illin o is ), M .S . (C o lum b ia ), was appointed P a rt-tim e L e c tu re r in the D e pa rtm e n t o f Econom ics and Business A d m in is tra tio n o f C hung C h i College from F ebruary 1 , 1966. △ M r. H o Pung o f Chung C h i College was ap po in ted Assistant L e c tu re r in Chinese, after com p le ting his tw o years o f graduate w o rk in the Research In s titu te fo r H um a n itic Studies, K y o to U n iv e rs ity , Japan. △ D r. C h 'ien M u returned from M alaysia on F ebruary 22 from his lecture tou r. △ T w ic e weekly members o f the Chung C h i College go to the College Chapel fo r a lu n ch -h o u r programm e o f recorded music. T h e programme, called "R ecorded M u sic A p p re c ia tio n ” ,is organised by the College's D e pa rtm ent o f M u s ic ‘ △ “ A Chinese M u s ic C o n c e rt" was presented by N ew Asia Chinese M u s ic Society on M a rc h 12 , 1966, at 8:00 p.m . in the College A u d ito rium . △ T h e M u s ic Society o f N ew Asia College, led by Rev. C. Egan, S J ., presented the G ilb e rt-S u lliv a n opera " T h e M ik a d o " on F ebruary 27 at the College, and again on M a rc h 1 and 3 at W ah Yan College, K ow lo o n , to raise funds fo r the proposed extension o f the la tte r's school bu ild in g s. T h e opera was sung in E nglish, w h ile the dialogues were spoken in Chinese, w h ic h was made possible th ro u g h the ingenious trans la tion o f D r. S.Y. Sun. T h e opera was later staged again at St. Paul's Co-educational College. △ F o rty -fiv e students from Japan, Korea, T aiw an, V ie tn am and as far as Ita ly danced and sang at N ew Asia College in the evening o f M a rch 17 , 1966. T h e perform ance "L e t's G o ' 66” was given by the M o ra l Rearmament Society in Asian Countries. " L e t's Go ’66” is a musical s im ila r to "S in g -o u t '6 5 " in the U n ite d States, pe rform ed by 130 students from 62 College campuses to prom ote M o ra l Rearmament. △ M r . Y u C h u n -ch ih o f the D e pa rtm e n t o f F ine A rts o f N ew Asia College was appointed Senior L e ctu re r w ith effect from A ug u st 1 , 1965. △ A thletes from the tw o universities in H ong K o n g m et on the sports field o f the U n iv e rs ity o f H ong K o n g on 6th February, 1966. T h e m eeting was sponsored by the S tudents' U n io n o f the U n iv e rs ity o f H o n g K ong. T h e group cham pionship w ent to Chung C h i College, w h ile the run ne r-up s were the U n iv e rs ity o f H o ng K o n g and U n ite d College. △ M r . T .C . Cheng, P ro -V ice -C h an ce llo r o f T he U n iv e rs ity and P resident o f U n ite d College, in vite d student leaders o f the College to luncheon on 12th February. I t was a pleasant gathering where College adm in istra tors and students exchanged views on matters o f m u tua l interest. △ A lecture on Dostoevsky (1821-1881) was delivered on F ebruary 18, 1966 by Professor Jesse Z e ld in , F u lb rig h t L e ctu re r at Chung C h i College and an a u th o rity on Russian lite ra tu re , to the students o f the E ng lish D e pa rtm e n t o f U n ite d College. △ D r. N .N . Chan , A c tin g Head o f the D epartm ent o f M athem atics o f U n ite d College, has been n om inated by the U n iv e rs ity to be member o f the In d u s tria l P ro du ction Statistics C omm ittee unde r the T ra d e and In d u s try A d v is o ry Board o f the G ove rnm em t D e p a rt m en t o f Commerce and In d u s try . 7
