John G i l b e rt Baker, a memb er of the Board of D i r e c t o r s of C h u ng Ch i, has been elected Bishop of H o n g K o n g and Macao. M r . Baker, who succeeds the Rt. Rev. R . O. Ha l l, w i l l be consecrated on St. A n d r ews D a y—N o v e m b er 30. F r om 1949 to 1951 M r . Baker taught at the U n i o n Theological College, L i n g n an Un i v e r s i t y. Chen Ch i n g - h o, Senior L e c t u r er in H i s t o ry at N ew Asia College was awarded the degree of Do c t or of L i t e r a t u re by K e io Un i v e r s i t y, Japan, in September, 1966. • Over seven h u n d r ed students and staff members of N ew Asi a College took part in a ceremony w h i ch marked the beginning of the new t e rm on September 12. President Ou T s u i n - c h en presided. A f t er the President spoke, the College Registrar M r . Wa n g Chi i n t r o d u c ed the ne w teachers to the gatering. Registration of students fo r the new academic year was completed on September 7. 8
