Ou, President of Ne w Asia, held a Farewell Party in his honour, at wh i ch D r . Ou commended M r . Schoyer on his contribution to the College and presented a souvenir on behalf of the College. T h e College Staff Association, the Student U n i on and the New Asia Yale-in-China Chinese Language Centre also gave h i m gifts. Over 100 people, including staff and students, were at the party. Δ M r . Pan Chung-kwei, Senior Lecturer and Head of the Chinese Department at N ew Asia College, left H o n g K o n g on 26th July for a f o u r - mo n th study tour to visit universities in various parts of the wo r ld and exchange opinions w i th scholars of Chinese studies. Δ T w o N ew Asia students, M r . Lee La i - t o, President of the N ew Asia College Student Un i o n, and Miss A u Ta k - h i n g, 3rd-year student of Chinese, are among the ten post-secondary student leaders who left for Japan on 29th July to attend the Fourteenth International Student Conference sponsored by the International Student Association of Japan. M r . Lee was the chief delegate of H o n g Ko n g. Representatives f r om over 20 countries attended this one-week Conference to discuss “ U n i t i n g for Peace". A f t er the Conference the Association arranged visits to various cities and universities i n Japan. M r . Lee and M i ss A u returned to H o n g K o ng at the end of August. Δ M r . L e u ng H o - k i m and M r . L u k Yun - t ong, students of New Asia, left the Colony in July to represent H o ng K o ng in j u do and basket - ball respectively in the Universiade To k y o.
