• At the invitation of the Economics Department of New Asi a College, Prof. H. Strecker of the University of Tubingen in Germany gave a talk on 14th January on "Accuracy of Statistical Data in Economics — Ascertainment of Response Errors". • At the 126th Monthly Assembly of New Asia College on 15th January, Prof. Tang Chun-i, Professor of Chinese Philosophy and Director of the College's Institute of Advanced Chinese Studies and Research, talked on "The Private and Public Schooling in the History of Chinese Education" . • The Music Department of Chung Chi College is sponsoring a film series, "Music in the United States", with weekly shows from 13th January to 10th February. The films are kindly furnished by the United States Information Service. • At a Biology Seminar held on 21st January by the Biology Department of Chung Chi College, Mrs. Edith Trott, Chairman of the Department of Biology, Hong Kong Baptist College, spoke on "The Ecology, Transmission, and Control of Bancroftian Filariasis". • Dr. K.W. Chiu, Lecturer in Biology, Chung Chi College, has been awarded a grant by the Society for Endocrinology, England, to read two short research papers at the 4th Asia and Oceania Congress of Endocrinology in New Zealand from 31st January to 6th February. • An exhibition of works by students of the Fine Arts Department of New Asia College was held at the College auditorium from 16th to 18th January. Exhibits included Chinese and Western painting, print-making, design and sculpture. • The Departmental Club of the Chinese Literature Department of New Asia College held a seminar on 23rd January on the theme "The Value of Literary Works in the Light of Popular Novels". • Mr. Law Yu-fai, a second-year Sociology student of United College, left for the United States on 4th January to participate in the Twenty-first Asian and Pacific Student Leader Project which will last for about 70 days. This Project is designed to provide young student leaders with an opportunity to visit representative American college and university campuses, meet prominent Americans in various fields, and above all, gain an insight into American life and culture. • At the Sixth Drama Festival sponsored by the Hong Kong Federation of Students held in the City Hall on 2nd and 9th January, “ The Wolf is Coming", the play produced by the Student Union of United College, won the Best Stage Design Award and was the runner-up of the Best Play Award. Miss Dorothy Sham Yuen, a second-year Sociology student, won the Best Actress Award. • On 18th January, a basketball team of 18 members from the National Normal College of Taiwan visited New Asia College.
