Yao GRADUATE SCHOOL NEWS Since its i n c e p t i on i n 1966, the Graduate School has expanded to include postgraduate courses in Biology, Business Adm i n i s t r a t i o n , Chemistry, Chinese History, Chinese Language & Literature, Geography, Philosophy and Sociology, all leading to the conferment o f Master's degrees. F o u r new Divisions, Biochemistry, Physics, Theology and Electronics, w i ll be added to the Graduate School in the academic year 1972-73. The first three Divisions w i ll require t wo years o f study including a research thesis, and the Division o f Electronics w i ll require o n ly one year of study w i t h o ut a thesis. A new typ e o f master's degrees is t o be introduced commencing f r om the academic year 1972-73. The degrees of Master o f Philosophy (M.Phil.) in Humanities, Science or Social Science and Master of D i v i n i ty (M.Div.) w i ll be awarded to candidates w h o have completed their studies o f a two-year graduate programme including a research thesis. The existing degrees of M . A ., M.Sc. and M.S.Sc. w i ll be awarded to candidates w h o have completed the one-year graduate programme based on course wo r k. The total enrolment o f students has increased f r om 78 o f 1970-71 to 91 this year.
