Transfers Mrs. Lo Ng Yuk-ying — Administrative Assistant, Academic Section, University Registry Miss Chan Yin-Ling — Administrative Assistant (Probationary), Office of Special Assistant to Vice- Chancellor COMINGS & GOINGS Dr. Georges Little, Director of Arts in Quebec Province, Canada and an authority on Music Education, visited Chung Chi College during the Christmas holidays. On 12th January, Dr. Little discussed with the music students the method of setting up a local chapter of the International Society for Music Education, to be called Hong Kong Society for Music Education. • Mrs. Kay F. McDougall, Consultant in Social Work Education to the National Institute for Social Work Training, United Kingdom, was in Hong Kong from 10th to 23 rd February, to advise this University on the feasibility of a graduate programme in Social Work. Her visit was sponsored by the Inter-University Council for Higher Education Overseas. • As a result of the Second Commonwealth Conference of Registrars of Universities of the South-East Asia and Pacific Area held in Kuala Lumpur last November, the Universiti Sains Malaysia in Penang sent two Administrative Assistants, Mr. P. Arunasalam (Personnel) and Mr. Othman b. Mohammad (Senate/School) and one Cataloguer, Miss Habsah bt. Ibrahim, to visit this University on 10th and 14th February. • Mr. H.W.B. Hayley , Director of Physical Education at Keele University, visited the University from 12th February to 2nd March, under the auspices of the British Council, and discussed with members of the University Committee on Physical Education the development of physical education within the University. • Prof. Harold K. Isaacs of Massachusetts Institute of Technology conducted a seminar on "Problems of Identity in Newly Formed States" at the Social Research Centre on 16th February. • Prof. Winston Hsieh of Missouri University gave a talk on his "Canton Delta Project" at the Social Research Centre on 23rd February, after which he explored possibilities of cooperation between the Project and the Centre. • Prof. Kyong-chol Chou , College of Science and Engineering, Yonsei University (Korea) arrived on 25th February for a two-week visit. • Dr. William H. Allaway, Director, Education Abroad Program, University of California, visited the University from 26th to 28th February. • Mr. Robert Silin, Regional Representative (Southeast Asia) of the Harvard-Yenching Institute, U.S.A., visited New Asia College on 28th February. _ Visitors to United College during the months of January and February included: Dr. Michael Bond, Department of Sociology, Kwansei Gakuin University, Japan; Dr. M.S. Gore, Director of the Tata Institute of Social Science, Bombay, who visited the Department of Social Work and gave a lecture on "Social Policy and Planning in Urban Development"; Mrs. Cyril Hunt; Dr. Lo Chin Tang, Professor of Chinese, University of Hawaii, who visited the Chinese Department; Prof. H.V. Musham, Professor of Statistics and Demography, Hebrew University, Israel; Rev. Daniel Ross, SJ., Department of Sociology, Fu Jen University, Taiwan; Dr. the Hon. Dhun Ruttonjee and Mrs. Ruttonjee; Mrs. D.H. Mays-Smith; Dr. A. van Weel, Director of Philips International Institute of Technological Studies, Holland; Mr. Stanley Van and Mr. Edwin H.K. Chau, both of Philips H.K. Ltd.; and Mr. Patrick S.S. Yu , a former member of the University Grants Committee. • Other visitors to the University in the months of January and February included Mr. Robert Gurevich, Executive Associate, Asia Program, Foreign Area Fellowship Program , American Council of Learned Societies; Prof. B. Holzner, Professor in Sociology, University of Pittsburgh; Mr. John A. Langley, First Secretary (Commercial Commission for Canada, Hong Kong; Prof. Guido Meneghetti and Prof. Ernest Toaldo of the Centre of Asiatic Studies of Milan, Italy; Mr. B.P. Schoyer , Executive Director of the National Committee on U.S.- China Relations and former Representative of the Yale- in-China Association in Hong Kong; Mr. M. Yoshimura of the Diplomatic Record Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; a group of faculty members and students from Georgetown College, U.S.A.; and a group of students from the College of the Pacific, U.S.A. 一 4 一
