Yang, Deputy Superintendent of National Taiwan Hospital; and Prof. Tatsuro Yamamoto, Professor Emeritus of Tokyo University. • A group of 60 American students led by Prof. Glenn Ma from Augustana College, Illinois, visited the University on 15th, 25th and 26th October. Orientation lectures were arranged by the Office of International Programmes on Hong Kong's international trade development, urbanization and social problems, Chinese arts, etc. • Mr. Frank Leeming, Lecturer in Geography, University of Leeds, visited United College. • Mr. G. Neumann and Dr. J. Kluender of the Department of German Studies, United College, attended a meeting of" Lecturers of the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) in South East Asia held at Singapore. •Mr. Poon Ming-sun, Assistant Lecturer, Department of Chinese, Chung Chi College, Mr. Poon Wah- tung, Librarian, New Asia College, and Mr. Lee Chik- fong, Assistant Librarian, University Library, attended the First Conference on Asian Library Cooperation held in Taipei from 18th to 22nd August. At the Conference, Mr . Lee delivered a paper on "Chinese Research Materials in Major Hong Kong Libraries ”, jointly prepared by Dr. L.B. Kan and himself. • Dr. Mun Kin-chok, Chairman of the Marketing and International Business Group of New Asia College, participated in the Advanced Training Programme on International Marketing for Teachers in Countries of ECAFE Region held from 2nd to 28th September in New Delhi. • At the invitation of the Chairman of the 1974 New Zealand Registrars' Conference, Mr. N.H. Young, University Secretary, left for New Zealand on 12th September to attend the 1974 Conference held in Auckland on 26th and 27th September, as the representative of the Commonwealth Conference of Secretaries /Registrars of Universities of the South East Asia and Pacific Area. Mr. Young's trip is supported by a travel grant from The Asia Foundation. • Dr. H.C. Kuan, Head of the Department of Government & Public Administration, United College, attended a Conference on “Foreign Investment and Development" held in Singapore on 22nd to 28th September. A t the Conference, Dr. Kuan presented a paper on “Foreign Investment, Transfer of Knowledge and Development". • Prof. Tang Chun-i , Professor of Philosophy, and Dr. Liu Shu-hsien, Senior Lecturer in Philosophy, New Asia College, attended a Conference on “Concepts of Nature, Naturalness, and Understanding of Natur e in the East and West", sponsored by the Institute of Intercultural Research, at Kyoto, Japan from 27th September to 6th October. • Dr. Harry H.L . Kwok, Lecturer in Electronics, United College, attended the 1974 International Solid State Circuit Conference Asian Committee at Tokyo from 3rd to 7th October. — 1 1 —
