Q: Are there many academic exchanges between the School o f Education and educational insti tutes in China and in other countries? Do these exchanges bring notable results? A: There are many academic exchangeprogrammes between our School and China. In 1984-85, more than twenty educational organizations from China visited the School of Education. Some university lecturers from China also came here for further studies, and anumber of those who have returned to China upon completion of study are serving in key positions, such as department heads or as cultural attache at an overseas Chinese consulate. We also have close contact with educationalists in Europe, America, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia. Apart from various kinds of research cooperations the School has invited many prominent overseas scholars to act as external examiners for the Diploma in Education Programme aswell as for the Master of Arts in Education Programme.
