Vice-Chancellor Met Outstanding Students Professor Charles K. Kao, the Vice-Chancellor and Mrs. Kao hosted a tea reception at their residence on 31st March to meet students from the graduating class of 1989 who had excelled themselves academically or had shown special growth and achievement i n other areas such as sports and social service. Some thirty students were invited. Also attending the reception were faculty deans, college heads and other senior academic and administrative staff. Faure, lecturer in history , has been reappointed a member of the Antiquities Advisory Board for a term of two years with effect from 1st January, 1989. * Professor Leung Ping-chung, professor of orthopaedics and traumatology, has been reappointed an adjudicator of the Immigration Tribunal and of the Registration of Persons Tribunal, both for a term of two years with effect from 1st March, 1989. * Dr. Richard M. W . Ho, lecturer in Chinese, has been reappointed a member of the Jubilee Sports Centre Board from 13th March to 25th September, 1989. * Professor David Gwilt, professor of music, has been reappointed a member of the Council for the Performing Arts for a term of two years with effect from 1st April, 1989. * Dr. Ho Kam-fai, director of the Department of Extramural Studies, has been reappointed a member of the Po Leung Kuk Advisory Board for a term of three years with effect from 1st April, 1989. * Dr. Stephen L. W. Tang, lecturer i n sociology, has been reappointed a member o f the Transport Advisory Committee for a term of one year with effect from 1st April, 1989. * Dr. Lam K i n Che, lecturer in geography, has been appointed a member o f the A ir Pollution Control Appeal Board panel. (2) Dr. Joseph Chan Man, lecturer in journalism and communication, has been nominated to represent the University on the Mass Communication Training Board of the Vocational Training Council for a term of two years from 1st April, 1989.
