A New Research Institute Charged with The Modernization of Chinese Medicine T he Chinese University has been a pioneer i n Chinese medicine research for more than two decades. In January this year, the Institute of Chinese Medicine (ICM) was set up to poo l existing expertise f r om the Faculties of Medicine, Science, and Engineering to develop evidence-based research. The institute aims at g i v i ng fresh impetus to Chinese medicine research, and, more importantly, at p r omo t i ng collaboration between Chinese and Western medicine, w i t h the objective of modern i z i ng traditional Chinese medicine and g i v i ng it a favourable place i n the international medical scene.
