46 Chinese University Bulletin Spring · Summer 2007 Two New Double Degree Programmes C UHK announced the launch of the Four-year Double Degree Programme in Engineering and Business Administration, and the first JD/MBA Programme in Asia. The Four-year Double Degree Programme in Engineering and Business Administration, jointly offered by the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Business Administration, is the first such programme without an admission quota. Students will spend the first three years majoring in engineering and taking additional business courses. In the fourth year, they will proceed to the business school where they will complete the second degree in business administration in one year. The programme offers great flexibility and is designed for science students who are strong in languages and analytical skills, and also interested in business and finance. Students from the Early Admission Scheme (EAS) or mainland China are particularly welcome to join the programme. The JD/MBA Programme is jointly offered by the School of Law and the Faculty of Business Administration. It is the first cross-disciplinary postgraduate double-degree programme in Hong Kong. Through reciprocal recognition of coursework, the JD/MBA Programme will allow students to complete both Juris Doctor (JD) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) in a shorter period of time, reducing the overall study load by 20%. Students who would like to continue pursuing a career in the legal profession may also choose courses leading them to entry eligibility for the PCLL Programme.
