Li Ka Shing Institute of Health Sciences Opens Set up with a HK$60 million donation by the Li Ka Shing Foundation, the Li Ka Shing Institute of Health Sciences, housed in a new 12-storey building at the Prince of Wales Hospital, was unveiled on 7 September 2007 by Dr. Li Ka-shing (pictured below right with Prof. Lawrence J. Lau). Adopting an innovative and interdisciplinary approach, the institute will embark on research projects that aim at translating advances in basic and molecular sciences into tests and treatments, with particular emphasis on sickness prevention, clinical sciences and regenerative medicine. 44 Chinese University Bulletin
