Bulletin Spring‧Summer, 2008

Interning in the Capital At the Office of the Hong Kong SAR Government in Beijing we were mainly involved in the promotional activities for Hong Kong, such as the Hong Kong and Macau Art Festival, which featured a painting exhibition at the China Millennium Monument, and performances by Hong Kong Dance Company and Hong Kong Repertory Theatre at the National Centre for the Performing Arts. We also took part in the Volunteer Oath Ceremony which kicked off the 30-day countdown to the Olympic Games. In addition, we helped out on Open Day on 1 July and paid visits to Tsinghua University and Peking University with the deputy director of the office. We also drafted a report on creative industries in Beijing. This valuable internship experience enabled us to witness the evolvement of Beijing into a modern world-class capital.
