38 Chinese University Bulletin Spring • Summer 2008 Women's Team Clinches Intervarsity Cross-country Championship Again T he CUHK team captured the women's team championship, women's individual championship and overall second runner-up at the 21st University Sports Federation of Hong Kong Cross-country Race held on 4 November. The women's team was winning the contest for the second time, while Mak So- ning Tania (3rd left), a Year 3 student in psychology, was bagging the individual championship for the third year in a row. The competition, featuring 170 athletes from 11 institutions, was held at CUHK. The 4.6 km route began at Sir Philip Haddon-Cave Sports Field, wound around Shaw College before making its way back to the Sports Field through the University Mall. Tania completed the route in 19'25", leading the runner-up by one minute. The Best and the Brightest Women's Table Tennis Team Lands Fifth Successive Victory T he CUHK women's table tennis team won their fifth successive championship title with a 3:1 victory over Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The final of the 2007–08 University Sports Federation of Hong Kong Women's Table Tennis Competition was held on 1 March at the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Tsing Yi). With a determination to win, the CUHK women's team triumphed, enabling CUHK to make history again.
