The Best and the Brightest   39 Handball Double Championship Recaptured T he CUHK men's and women's handball teams beat Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education respectively on 23 March in the Handball Competition Finals of the University Sports Federation of Hong Kong to recapture the championship after two years. The opponents of both teams were ex tremely strong as many were members of the official Hong Kong team. Lau Wan-tat, a Year 3 student in statistics and captain of the CUHK men's team, attributed their success to the effort of the team members, their coach and the alumni. Rowing Team Wins Seventh Consecutive Championship T he CUHK rowing team was the women's champion and the overall champion for the seventh successive year in the Jackie Chan Challenge Cup Hong Kong Universities Rowing Championships 2008. This year, CUHK also recaptured the men's overall champion-ship title. Over 190 rowers from eight local tertiary institutions took part in the event held on 12 and 13 July 2008.
