68 Part 2 • General Information Guest Houses The University operates several guest houses which provide room and board facilities for guests on short periods of stay in the University, including Yali Guest House, University Guest Houses I and II, the Chan Kwan-tung Inter- University Hall, and Chiangs Building, which together provide lodging for up to 180 visitors. Student Hostels The University and its constituent colleges operate a number of hostels for students who wish to live on campus. Postgraduate Halls No. 1–6 provide some 1,000 places for graduate students. Chung Chi College has eight hostels: Ming Hua Tang, Wen Lin Tang, Ying Lin Tang, Hua Lien Tang, Theology Building, Madam S.H. Ho Hall, Wen Chih Tang, and Lee Shu Pui Hall, which together provide 1,084 places. At New Asia College, Chih Hsing Hall, Xuesi Hall, and Grace Tien Hall can accommodate 770 students. At United College, Adam Schall Residence, Bethlehem Hall, and Hang Seng Hall also have a combined capacity of 770. Kuo Mou Hall and Hostel II of Shaw College provide around 1,160 places. With the exception of Postgraduate Halls No. 1–6 which have several hundred single rooms, most student hostels provide shared accommodation in the form of twin-bed rooms. There are also a small number of special rooms for married students without children. Telephone and computer network connections are provided for individual rooms. The Faculty of Medicine operates the Madam S.H. Ho Hostel for medical students at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sha Tin, the teaching hospital of the faculty, providing accommodation for 148 senior clinical students.
