With the latter’s change of name to the Department of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management in 1994–95, theunit too was renamed the Systems Engineering and EngineeringManagement Consultancy Unit. It provides the industrial sector and the academic community with consulting services such as expert advice,feasibility studies,system analysis and design, simulation, softwareand hardware development, customized seminars, and training courses. Th e unit is fully supported by the academic staf f of the department, whose ar eas of specialization and industrial experience cover the main branches of systems engineering and engineering management, including information systems, financial engineering, e-commerce, machine intelligence, system scien ces, system mod elling , systems o p timization , p ro du ctio n management, managementand decision science, and information management.
