It has also entered into joint publication arrangements with commercial publishers in the US, theUK, Germany, mainland China, Taiwan, South Korea, Australia, Japan, and Sweden. In recentyears, the Press has been publishing textbooks for secondary and university students as well as dictionaries and glossaries. The Chinese University Press is a foundin g director of the Hong Kong Publishing Federation Ltd. and a member of the Association for Asian Studies, theInternational Association of Scholarly Publishers,and the Society for Scholarly Publishing. It is also an international member of the Asso ciation of American University Presses. Information Technology Services Centre The Information Technology Services Centre (ITSC) (website: http://www.cuhk . edu.hk/itsc) offers avariety of services to supportacademicdevelopment, research, and administration. Its ser vice arm does no t stop at technical supp ort and ap plicatio n or p ro ject d ev elopment, bu t stretches to areas lik e sy stem recommendation, acquisition, installation and subsequent maintenance. Key Services The ITSC provides seven key services to users: • basic computer resources; • programming consultation; • training seminars and user documentation on the useof computer systems and application packages; • microcomputer application support, technology transfer,officeautomation and research; • workstation support including advice on hardware selection and subsequent installation, user training, ongoing consultation and system administration; • evaluation, selection, and installation of network equipment; the monitoring of networking activities between the University and the rest of the world; and • development and maintenance of management informatio n systems for the University administration. Computing Resource s for Research, Te aching, Le arning , and Administration To provide efficient services, the ITSC has multiplexed its computer facilities, which include • two high performance computing systems for research computing:a 24-CPU SGI Origin 20 00 sup er computer an d a 10 -CPU SUN En ter prise 65 00 supercomputer.
