The laboratory provides a platform for interdisciplinary collaboration in general and applied linguistics research, ranging from lexicon and morphology, syntax and semantics, phonetics and phonology, to first/second/bilingual language acquisition, dialects and minority language in China, corpus linguistics, sign linguistics, applied linguistics, testing and evaluation. It is equipped with computers and software for speech analysis. It houses corpora data in monolingual, bilingual and multilingual contexts first and second language corpora, particularly corpora contributed by the linguistics faculty. Musculoskeletal Research Laboratory Tel.: 2632 3071 Fax.: 2606 3592 E-mail: lingqin@cuhk.edu.hk Website: http://www.ort.cuhk.edu.hk The Musculoskeletal Research Laboratory was established as a part of the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology in 1983. In recent years, the laboratory has been undergoing expansion and consolidation. The objectives of the laboratory are: • to identify clinical problems related to the musculoskeletal system; • to improve the depth and breadth of clinical and basic research related to the musculoskeletal system; • to develop new and innovative applied technology; • to integrate research with potential clinical applications with the aim of improving the quality of clinical service and treatment protocols; • to fulfil the academic needs of the University; • to promote the interest of research in the musculoskeletal system among undergraduate and postgraduate students and professional trainees; • to establish and promote practical and collaborative research with other institutions locally and internationally.
