CUHK Newsletter Services to the Community and International Organizations • Dr. Frank Fu, director of physical education, has been renominated to serve on the Physical Education Subject Committee of the HKCEE of the Hong Kong Examinations Authority for three years from 1st September 1990. Dr. Fu has also been awarded the title of honorary professor by China Sports Science Institute, Beijing, China. • Dr. Chiao Chien, reader in anthropology, has been awarded the title of honorary professor by Shanxi University and the Central Institute for Nationalities, China. • Dr. Walter W. K. King, senior lecturer in surgery, was elected an international member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in May 1990. Dr. King was also elected a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology in June 1990. • Prof. Yeung Yue-man, professor of geography, has been awarded the title of advisory professor by East China Normal University. • Dr. Siu Ping Kee, director of School of Education, has been appointed a member of the Board of Education by HE the Governor for one year from 1st July 1990. • Dr. Thomas Y. T. Luk, senior lecturer in English, has been invited by the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts to serve as foundation member of the Drama Advisory Committee from April 1990. • Dr. P. S. Chung, reader in electronic engineering, has been elected Council Member of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers for 1990-91. Dr. Chung has also been invited to be a member of the Overseas Ad v i s o ry Committee of the T h i rd Microoptics Conference to be held in Yokohama, Japan in October 1991. • Prof. Rance P. L. Lee, professor of sociology, has been reappointed as a member of the Statistics Advisory Board by HE the Governor for a further term of two years from 1st June 1990. • Prof. Arthur K. C. Li, professor of surgery, has been reappointed by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons as a member of the editorial board of the Australian &. New Zealand Journal of Surgery for 1990-91. • Dr. S. C. Sydney Chung, senior lecturer in surgery, has been elected to the Scientific Committee of the World Association of Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery. • Mr. William Cheng, senior college tutor of Shaw College, has been reappointed to the Board of Governors and Council of the Hong Kong Baptist College by HE the Governor from 1st July 1990 to 30lh June 1993. • Dr. Daniel T. L. Shek, lecturer in social work, has been appointed amember of the Mental Health Review Tribunal by HE the Governor for three years from 1st July 1990.
