The size of each class wi ll be limited to eight students and participants will be enrolled on a first-come- first-served basis. The minimum number of students to form a class is four. Basic tuition fee for each course is HK$5,640. The University will subsidize 40 per cent of the tuition fee for all full-time academic and administrative staff as well as their spouses who are expected to be with the University for at least two years, and who are not receiving a language study subsidy from any other source. For enrolment, please contact the Chinese Language Centre at Ext. 6727 before 9th September 1996. 颱風襲港及暴雨的有關安排 General Arrangements for Typhoons and the Black Rainstorm Warnings 颱風季節和雨季將至，新聞及公共關係處已於一九 九六年八月一日連同《每周活動一覽》派發由行政事務處 編纂，關於颱風襲港及黑色暴雨警告懸掛時之安排通 告。如未收到該份通告，可致電新聞及公共關係處（內 線八八九九）索取。 A circular on general arrangements during the approach oftyphoons and the hoisting of black rainstorm warnings, issued by the Office of the Director of Administrative Services, was sent to various units as an attachment to the Weekly Events on 1st August 1996. Those who have not received the circular or who would like to obtain more copies please call the Information and Public Relations Office at Ext. 8899. 膳堂服務 Canteen Services 范克廉樓教職員膳堂已裝修完畢，原有之嘉賓廳擴 建爲宴會廳，命名爲「子衿廳」（ A 房）和「鹿鳴廳」（ B 房），分別可筵開三桌和七桌。 宴會廳平日闢作小菜廳，提供傳菜（包括點心）服 務，供教職員留位用膳（訂座電話：二六零三五五零零 或二六零三五零一三）；亦歡迎校內單位、組織和個別 人士包廳租用。兩廳均須加一收費。 另李卓敏基本醫學大樓小食店將於八月廿七日至九 月四日暫停開放，以進行維修工程，九月五日起恢復營 業。 A Bigger and Better BFC Staff Canteen The two VIP rooms A and B at the Benjamin Franklin Centre staff canteen have been renovated and expanded. Room A, renamed 'Zi Jin Room', now accommodates three tables; room B, renamed ,Lu Ming Room', now accommodates seven tables. Table reservations are required henceforth, and a 10 per cent service charge will be levied. Booking of the rooms by departments, organizations, and individual members of the University is also welcome. For enquiries and reservations, please call 2603 5500 or 2603 5013. Temporary Closure of the Basic Medical Sciences Building Snack Bur The Basic Medical Sciences Building snack bar will be closed from Tuesday, 27th August to Wednesday, 4th September for annual maintenance.
